I always hated Valentines day, even with a boyfriend because I feel if you truly love someone you should celebrate your love every day of the year not just one day, or the same day that the rest of the world is. I mean I love the pretty decorations and everything, but people feel obligated to celebrate it with there loved ones and if they don't get anything then they are mad. I like getting beautiful flowers from my boyfriend and he does it on that day because he doesn't do it very often so I do enjoy it. but this year is different (well last year) because this time last year I had my son and this year he will be 1 years old on Valentines day, that day is also my best friend's birthday so now we have two reasons to love it.

My husband and I always celebrate Valentine's Day, not because of any particular tradition, but for individual reasons.
We were in a long distance relationship for the first few years of our relationship, and even for part of our marriage, because of work schedules. He was in AZ, and I was in ON Canada. Anyway, through some miraculous coincidence, we always managed to be together on Valentine's Day, even during the years when we were forced to miss eachother's birthday, and one year, our first wedding anniversary. \
Now we are together, no weird schedules, but we are not going to break the Valentine's Day tradition, EVER!
