The Valentine's Day is coming. I talked to my colleague and asked her whether there are some girls who will buy and send the flowers for themselves. She said she did it before I am surprised to her frank words. Yes, it seems to be silly, but at least many girls will envy you instead

I am single and that now become a big problem for me. If I can receive roses or flowers from boys that may help me avoid the pressure from my family.
But to tell you the truth, if i can have a try, I really want something useful not flowers. So I think I will not send flowers to myself.

Ha!ha!ha! That is silly but quite funny! I did not really do that. I found no sense in doing it. It is more of cheating yourself actually. Well, some girls just want to look like they are on top of the others so they want other girls to see they got flowers while others did not.

Youless, in fact there is one of my ex-colleagues who would want to do this type of silly game, every year during Valentine's Day. It is not that she is very hard to get a boyfriend but she is kind of a choosy person. So, most of the time, she will ended-up don't have a boyfriend during Valentine's Day. It is a surprised that when my naughty assistant called up that flower shop, the owner mentioned that the bouquet of flowers was ordered by the owner own self. Seems like, she was feels ashamed as not to let us knows that she don't have any boyfriend during Valentine's Day.

I dont think i would ever do this. I also find this very silly. If you dont have anybody to share valentines with dont make yourself look like you did and then make others jealous that you got flowers or something its just not very nice at all. I dont think i could ever see myself doing this at all and its really weird to me too.
Im sure there are alot of people who do this too and then people might be like oh you have someone special in your life and its kind of like your lying so i really dont udnerstand this at all.

hi youless I don't know why but an old song popped into my head as I read about girls buying flowers and pretending a boy friend sent them. "I love me,I love me, I'm wild about myself" thats all i
remember of the song but it seems if you buy flowers to send to yourself is that not being sort of I love me? It sou nds really silly and if I wanted to spend that much money I would use it to
b uy something I really needed. lol. I hope this valentine's day
will be better for me. last y ear I had a hard fall the day after Valentines day and ended up in rehab hospital for 20 days.

Reminds me of 'Mr Bean' where in one of the episodes about the New Year he posts greeting cards to himself and in another Christmas episode he does the same thing and also the previous night hangs his socks with gifts for himself and for his teddy bear.Yes it does sound silly to send flowers to oneself and pretend that ones friend have sent them.Perhaps your colleague does not have many friends who send gifts to her.

Oh, yeah, that is possible. Maybe they are just sad that no boyfriend will give them those things.. but valentines day is not just for lovers, they are for people who love each other, they can be for family and friends too.

I never bought flower for myself just because it's valentine's day. Actually, i don't want to receive one either during the event, id rather have it before feb. 14, because i dont want others to tease me ;)

I don't think this a quite so silly. According to me it is really so strange. If she feel great relief when she buy and send the flowers for themselves then why can't he do the same. I think she can practice the same.

haha I never thought some girls are able to do this in valentines day
, but It seemed its not wrong to buy flowers for yourself when valentines days.Only people who are narrow minded will find it silly. I usually received flowers not only in valentines day but more in ordinary days. Some of my friends and online longtime friends are very sweet to me and like to surprised me all the time

I think many girls will do this. Nowadays, people cant lose, everyone would like to win, even sending flower also want to compare with other people. See other people have flower but they dont, so they will buy it themselves to show others actually they also have flowers too. Haha, quite silly right? If for me, i sure i wont do such thing, i wont waste this kind of money. :) happy mylotting

That is silly. Why would you send flowers to yourself. If you enjoy flowers, just go out and buy some. Its analogous writing a letter to yourself or talking to yourself. Maybe all her friends would usually get flowers and she would feel left out. That still isn't a valid reason. There is no valid reason. Besides, who would intentionally want others to envy you. It seems a bit self-centered to me.

Even when i was single, I did not send myself flowers on Valentine's Day. Occasionally, I'd see pretty flowers at the grocery store when shopping, and I'd bring them home just because I likd them, but I would not hide the truth from friends and colleagues who might see them. I'd tell them that I bought the flowers, just because I wanted them!!

hahaha.. this is funny. I think i also knew someone who did that once. I remember when i was still studying, and it's valentines day, there is someone who will knock on the door while the class is going on, and it says, special delivery! A bouquet of flower and a heart shape chocolate. The girl who received those was so flattered and embarrassed at the same time. I'm not really envy about it, although i'm a single that time. I just feel happy about it, i just think that love is in the air. LOL.
But what i thought about it is that, i think she sends those flowers for herself. LOL.
I'm not really sure, because i knew that this girl really doesn't have a boyfriend at all.
