My mom told me about a shocking news on TV this morning. A 20 year-old girl choked her 13 year-old brother to death because he wanted to borrow her socks but she didn't allow him. They then had an argument and it ended with the brother's death. I didn't know how she felt when she realized that her brother wasn't breathing anymore. What shocked me the most was that it's only a pair of SOCKS!!
My brother used to borrow things from each other and sometimes they had arguments about things which weren't returned but they never even had a fight (physically). What was going through her mind when she did it? It's her brother, for God's sake. Even if he said something hurtful, it doesn't mean that she could do that, right? :( I just don't get it. How can it be a family bond can be ended just because of a pair of socks...

Yes the world is far beyond crazy. I know for me it is hard to comprehend what people are capable of doing and over very stupid things. People are easily able to take a life without even thinking about it. It is so sad as life really is precious. Parents killing children, children killing siblings or parents. It really is a big aweful mess.

It is really sad. Things are very backwards at time. It seems as though those who do small things get punished severely and those who do aweful things don't get the punishment that equals justice. I feel bad for the younger generation that is to grow up in and around all of this crazyness.

Yes, you're right. People are making so much mess. :( How could they do that? Do you know that in my country, people who steal banana from someone's yard will be jailed for at least 3 months? Only BANANA!!! Some months ago or maybe last year, an old woman stole a bunch of banana because she wanted to sell it for some money to buy food. She was sent to the police station and got jailed for 3 months. She's even hungry old lady! I mean, I don't know how people use their brain to think and their heart to feel. I think they're put in the wrong places. :(

Yeah I have to agree this world is definately crazy. I would not fight a family member over something I didn't want them to have or borrow. She's def going to regret doing what she did because now she has to pay for the consequences. It's going to scar her for life that's for sure. She will never have a normal life again.

I agree. Even if she cries really out loud, it can't bring her brother back to live again. I do really hope she regrets everything, no matter how useless it is. :(

Hi Miss Piggy: You are absolutely right. This is just crazy. I think we are in the middle of a violent culture because of the media but also because family values have been lost. As long as this situation keeps going worst people get more intolerant and these terrible acts will remain.

And it will be so sad if it really happens... I can't imagine how life is no longer precious these days. Father killing children, sister killing brother, people killing other people. It seems like someone's life is unimportant. :(

Yes it's a bit extreme. My brothers would argue all the time about possessions. They would even fight over ownership. However, choking never happened. The sad thing about it is that its not even a significant possesion. It's a pair of socks. Wow...

hi MissPiggy this is horrible and she is not a teen so will go
to prison for murder as an adult. I cannot imagine why she would
even take of doing something do deadly over a stupid pair of socks.and why was she even there? At twenty I had my own place and was working,and caring for myself not home being waited on and spoiled. the world does indeed seem to be going bonkers here

It is so sad to hear that Miss
but i have three kids here who always fighting each other because just a seat or even just because TV.
I try to make them understand tht sharing with each other would make their world happier
Sometimes it works but sometimes it doesnt
i hope they wont ended like ur discussion

I'm sure they will make it. Me and my brothers have become a great team and I'm proud of my parents for educating us so well. :) So I'm sure it's not an impossible thing to do. ;)

I don't get it either. Her brother's life over a pair of socks. That is so sad. On a related topic, Josh Powell burning the house down and killing those precious boys is tragic as well.

That's also my question. :( What is in those people's mind while they're doing it? Josh has no reason in killing his sons, that's also crazy. There's something wrong "inside". That sister is also "unwell". :( What will be happening if this thing continues? So sad...

That is insane. I couldn't imagine harming any one of my family members. But there must be something seriously wrong with that girl, up in the head.... What kind of 20 year old would do something so terrible to a 13 year old is beyond me...She needs to be locked up. In jail OR a psychiatric ward. Or a psychiatric ward prison!!!

You are right. the world is going crazy and people are mostly self centered and never think about future.... The domestic violence is increasing on a rapid speed. Its not only on your place but here in my locality too.

this is shocking new really young teenager are getting bad image from the tvs show in this regards i think now days family specifically mother father should threat their children as their friend,not like hitler,they should listen to their problem and possibly resolve through like friendship

I think you're right. Parents also have the concern here. Parents now are too busy working so that they don't have enough time to spend with their children They think that if they fulfill their children's needs with some money, then everything will be fine. But it's not. Children are losing control and love from their parents so they look for it in different ways. Too bad some of them choose the wrong path. :(

I think that is why it's so important for children to learn to share, while they are still living with their family! They must learn that later on the time will come for them to have share things, be it socks, or whatever! Brothers are much more important than just a pair of socks!

Hi MissPiggy, This sort of thing is very difficult for most of us to understand but we must remember that there have always been people like this in the world. Today, we hear about everything that happens, especially the bad things, as that is what makes the news. Such people have big problems and need help if they are to fit into society and live like the majority of us. In many ways the world is a better place than it was fifty years ago, but we don't hear so much about the good things that are happening. Blessings.

You're quite right when you say that the world is going mad, and I cannot believe what I am reading about the girl who killed her own brother. I do understand that people get angry and that things can get out of hand, but I would never have thought that things could get so out of hand that this should happen to such a young child as well. It is wrong, and the only thing that I can think of is that the poor girl must have something seriously wrong in her head to even be thinking about doing something like this which is so horrible.

I really do sometimes wonder about people out there in this day and age. There are a lot of things in the world in this day and age that quite frankly terrify me. It is bad enough when these things happen with people that barely known each other. However, when it happens with family members, it puts it on an entirely new disturbing plane.
What is wrong with these people? Well it does seem to be a whole lot really. There are just times where I think that the world has just reached how messed up it can be. No, there is a different level of how messed up something can be. You don't know the depths where people can do these days. It's getting to the point where nothing is going to surprise us, which is a really bad commentary on the state of people in general.

The thing that scares me is when there is another news like this one, our comment would be "...again?" with a flat face.

Maybe they never teach to share, even think about sharing shock is quite gross but my brother used took mine if he don't see his sock or all of it dirty. Its usually end up become his, because I won't wear sock he already wear. So to avoid this usually usually buy girly sock like pink in color and some girly cartoon. Something he will never wear even if I paid him to wear it.
So I think its basically just the way your teach, my parent always said so many thing many can buy but family will stay by your side no matter what will happen.I think they both show selfish act one because not sharing and others because want something not his. And where on earth they learn, if you mad you can choke any one. I ever see many people hit each other as sibling but never choking.

Yes, my parents also taught me to share. I can even count how many times my brothers hit each other. We often have arguments but we never end up physically fighting. And yes, family is the most important people in the world. She just sadly didn't know that. :(
