When I bought my new computer, it came loaded with several games...one of which is Chuzzle. Chuzzle is a match 3 or more type games that I never found to be very entertaining. I don't know what has changed...probably me, but I've been enjoying playing this game. I've noticed a strange occurrence every time I play it. The little colored characters that you match up are hairy round faced characters that explode & spew hair everywhere when matched properly. Well, every time I create a hairy explosion, I've noticed that my eyes begin to water like crazy. It doesn't take many explosions for my eyes to begin to swell shut & I have to stop playing. At first I thought it was just a coincidence; so I purposely played the game just to see what would happen...yep eyes watering & swelling until I can barely see!!! I know that in reality that there is NO hair flying around the room or getting anywhere near my eyes, but my eyes don't seem to understand that!!! As I'm sitting here discussing this phenomenon, my eyes are beginning to itch from just thinking of playing the game. How do you control such an occurrence???

Wow! I don’t know really. It seems like your eyes are reacting as if they are allergic to the hair. You know the brain controls everything in our bodies, so apparently the brain perceives the hair as an antigen in your body that you are allergic to… kind of like a somatoform disorder. I have a conversion disorder that takes stress and turns it into stuttering and stammering… no reason for it.. but any time I get anxious I start stuttering… maybe seeing the hair flying all over tricks your brain into thinking you have an allergy to it?

I remember the horror you went through until the doc came up with conversion disorder. Mine is most definitely a brain dysfunction. I'm just wondering how to control it??? I like Barb's suggestion, so the next time I'm at the store, I'm picking up a pair of protective glasses to see if I can trick it back!!!

This is interesting. Have never heard of anything like this happening, and I wonder if because you might be allergic to some things are hairy, maybe this is it? I know I Love Chuzzle myself, but have never had any issues with it. But maybe you need to try putting some Drops in your eyes prior to playing this, and maybe wear Glasses of some sort like others have suggested. This does not sound like a Fun thing to happen for sure.

PLEEEEASE...don't say the word yawn...I can't even type it without doing it!!!
My eyes most definitely have a mind of their own. They even started itching just from my discussing it!!! I'm going to try Barb's suggestion in response #1 & buy some safety glasses. Maybe I can trick them into thinking they are safe!!!

I think sometimes psychologically speaking, our senses get really confused. The only example I can think of is when someone is talking about head lice, or having a rash, suddenly you start itching as well even though you don't have neither of those. LOL. I think our brains just tend to get confused sometimes. And unfortunately I don't think there's anything we can do about it!! But you are not alone!! LOL

This is most definitely s psychological reaction...I'm just trying to come up with a way to control the reaction!!! Just discussing it has made my eyes start to itch.
