Charmin Basic isn't any better then Angel Soft

I went to the store and got some Charmin because I was wanting some soft toilet paper. I've bought Charmin ultra soft before and it was nice. I figured Charmin Basic would be about the same. I wanted to get Charmin Basic because it was cheaper, well I didn't do much comparing prices either way. I did compare when I got home and opened the package to feel not so soft toilet paper. I took a piece of angel soft toilet paper and a piece of charmin basic and put it on my leg side by side. You can see through Charmin Basic more then you can through Angel Soft, and Angel soft also seems to be a bit softer. So guys, Charmin is good, a great brand, but don't get Charmin Basic, it's just not that good. From the sides Charmin basic is softer then Angel Soft, but when rubbing between my thumb and index finger, Angel Soft is softer when it coems to the piece of toilet paper itself. Weird discussion I know, but informative anyway. Do you use either of these two products?

I use neither of those products, I use generic brand in pretty much all areas of life (including toilet paper). I guess I have low standards because the stuff I have is just fine - I think Cub Foods' generic brand is what it is. Good to know though. I guess there's a reason why that particular brand was cheaper, I guess you get what you pay for...

I guess I'm just a snob when it comes to some things. Been used to the good stuff for so long, I won't go any other way again with toilet paper. A lot of things in life are the generic brand for me and I'm fine with it.

hi SomeCowgirl I did when i was in our old apt. and found Angel soft was fine for me as I could save a little but Charmin ultra is super soft. the one thing I did not like to be frank it clings to your private parts in miserable little balls. yuck so I stuck to andle soft as its not apt to do that., here they use a different brand as I am now in this tiresome retirement center.

I hadn't found that that does that to me, but the other paper I just feel I have to use more of, and it feels rougher! :( They probably use industrial so it's probably pretty cheap and coarse :(

Thanks for the inside scoop I will be sure to buy this brand soon as it comes on sale.I like to hit the sales and stock up for a month or so being I hate going shopping. If some one ask me about T. P. I will pass this valuable information along...Thanks!!!

I like the Charmin extra strong myself. I'd discuss it more with you, but I'm wiped out.

I usually get Angle Soft Double Rolls. THey are both about the same price. Charmin goes for alittle more because of the brand name. I see no reason to buy one tissue(what a WASTe Of mOneY!!) and always get double ply. I hate nothing I can think of more than setting down and when I go to get some paper it is ONE PLY. UGH!

I don’t know which kind of Charmin I get… I just know I get Charmin. I think it is one ply and thick. I like it much better than Angel Soft. We only get Angel Soft when we are short on money and want to save a bit… but I don’t like it because it breaks up so easily and leaves ‘lint’ on me. I won’t buy Angel Soft unless I’m close to broke and need to buy more groceries. I went to Save a Lot one time and got 6 – 12 packs of Charmin (Big Rolls) for $5 each and that was cheaper than I could get it at Walmart. Try wetting the Angel Soft to clean yourself with and it will disintegrate every time. Not so with the Charmin. It’s much stronger.

I hate angel soft and won't buy it. I know that the Charmin is much stronger, the regular that is. I did a test on it one time, wetted it and wetted angel soft, angel soft disintegreated.

I actually do not buy either of those brands because they cost more. I buy scott brand toilet paper. I dont like the fluffy thicker toilet paper because it makes it harder for me to feel if I got clean or not. I dont know why. But I like scott because its thin and I can just pull until I get the amount that I need. With the thicker toilet paper I wind up using more then I need and its wasteful.
