I had the absolute WORST Monday ever! This past Monday, I was cruising along to work when the scariest thing in the world happened--the entire wheel came off my car (I was doing 65 miles per hour)! Fortunately I didn't wreck it, but it became a VERY expensive problem. Of course I had to post a picture to Facebook and only FIVE people even commented on it! I HAD over 400 friends, but after that I've come to realize that most of them don't give a darn about me! So I've started going through and de-friending them--I doubt half of them will even notice! The ones I'm keeping are the ones who have posted on my wall in the last year (and NOT to ask me to send them a gift for Farmville!) or newer friends I work with. Quite depressing though... How many of you have gone through your Facebook friends and cleaned it up lately? What was your motivation?

Well I'm stuck in a similar sort of situation when it comes to friendship. But instead of de-friending them I simply unsubscripted from their updates. It works similar to de-friending them, the only difference being that they still get to be in your friend list. Poor creatures.. thats the least I can do for them..

Himzey, you're MUCH kinder a person than me! I actually had to hide updates from a few because they were filling my feed with nothing but nonsense! I'm only subscribed to one person on Facebook and that's Suze Orman-she posts a lot of pertinent financial stuff that I DO need.

I too only receive updates from a few websites and news channels I subscribed to. I've found out that my likings and my priorities are way opposite to my pals and there is no chance I'm going to change for them. I am what I am. Thats why, now I am least bothered about what my buddies are doing. I visit my profile page, see the progress I made in Ravenskye (the game I'm currently playing on FB ) and then logout.

I have on Facebook account not only really good friends, but also poeple I met somewhere, I knew them. When I am not in touch with particular person for example for more than 1 year, and that person is not even commenting my stuff and I do not know about her or him, I am deleting them ffom my account. There is no need to have them as a fiend, where you are not in touch with them.

I have several 'gaming' friends with whom I have more contact with! It's really disappointing too because these are people I've known over 25 years! Guess I'm back to where I was before Facebook and I didn't talk to them. But in the overall picture, it doesn't really bother me too much-if they can't bother to talk to me on the phone, I'm not going to waste time with them on Facebook any longer!

I got several of them blocked for the simple reason that they never commented on my post. It hurt you know to find out that they never ever care what we think. Now I have changed my mind and decided not to block them. The more friends we have the more money we make.

Yanzalong--I'm talking about Facebook friends, not MyLot friends. Many of my MyLot friends have left the site, and I don't think I want to add any more. What hurts is that I actually have spoken face-to-face with many of my Facebook 'friends' and that they just don't give a hoot about me. And to date, only ONE even noticed I defriended him and has sent a friend request.

Me either, but the guys at the garage said because the entire bolts were gone, it was a combination of: 1) them being original to the car (it's a 96!) and 2) having either hit a curb or a lot of potholes. We had a freak snowstorm recently and Jim slid out of control and hit a curb hard with the left front wheel (the one that came off)-we just tend to hit a lot of potholes because it's that time of year. I'm just glad that I have my parents as guardian angels looking out for me!

I have not had a problem where the entire wheel came off but only with tire burst due to air problem twice. Sorry for what happened. Sometime when we have problems, it is the high time that we get to know who are our true friends and who are not. Most friends in Facebook or other social networks care less whether you in trouble or not. It is good that you realized that and de-friended them.

Thank you for your concern. I've had a blow out, but that was super scary because it was rush hour and I was 19, with two years of driving experience. You're right--it takes something like this for us to realize who our REAL friends are.

I only accept adds from people that I actually talk to on FB. I only have 66 FB friends and I still plan to delete some of those if I havent talked to them in the last year.

Oh, I actually know 99% of my Facebook friends--most of them were either from school or work. There's a few gaming friends that I've gotten close to in the last few years, but that's it. I've got to find a 'test' to see who responds--and those that don't will be deleted.

oh gosh I have a facebook accouont but did not get on it yesterday. My husband and I had that happen on the freeway when we were going around that speed. thats just the scariest thing ever. He managed to control the pickup and stop it, then he really scared me as he was running up the freeway to get that damned wheel and cars zipping past him, I had our youngest child our daughter on my lap and she was just a baby;.I held my breath til he got back with the wheel without getting hit. Yes even back then it was costly. Scorpiobabies am I on your friends list as I do not remember your FB user name. I sure sympathize as I now how scared I was when it happened. at least when it happened we were about two miles from home so the tow tuck charges were not too bad. this happened many years back so now I imagine you had to pay a lot more.glad you were able to control the car to get it stopped.I seem to have a lot of friends too and so many just want me to send themn a gift to the various games.I did not want to get stuck in the games as I wanted to spend time on mylot.

That sounds really scary, especially when you factor in your daughter! The trooper wouldn't allow me to cross the highway (nor would the 911 operator) because they were worried for my safety. Good thing I knew approximately where it went--the trooper found it just as my car was getting strapped onto the rollback. I was in shock that day but Tuesday I was REALLY shook up and left super early! But we're hoping to trade it in on Monday night--after that, Jim's decided I need to be in a safer car. I feel the same way!

65 miles was a bit fast. That's more than 100 km per hour. It's a good thing you weren't hurt. I guess there are "friends" in your Facebook network whom are more of acquaintances than friends in the true definition of the word. I mean, there are really different levels of friendship and you can't expect them to be the types of friends you want. I understand how you feel about ridding your list of so-called friends on your account but you might want to think things over first. Maybe some of them haven't seen your post yet.

Actually, 65 mph was the speed limit. I know now why I wasn't hurt--I landed on my left front control arm (NOT a good thing) and I have two guardian angels (Mom & Dad). But a lot of the people I've been eliminating haven't EVER posted on my wall--they're the first ones to go. As for the rest, if they haven't posted in the last two or more years, bu-bye! Many of these people I've gone to school with or worked with. I know who my true friends are--that's why so many of these are going.
