Vampire Diaries: Who should end up with Elena Stefan or Damon?

oh,,it's a hard choice,but it is the hard choice that make this TV series more mysterious and popupar~~~ i'm on D side~`~no reason,just love him irrevocably~ and every weeks' updating's almost eating me... lately,i fall in love with Klaus,,, and seems he has feelings for caroline ,,so i'm waiting for the following episodes,,,waiting for this pair~~~~

I only watched this series on its first season so now i dont really have an idea on what is going on. So i will just base my answer on the limited episodes that i have watched. On the first season, Stefan seems to be the good boy so i'm picking him.

I guess if it were me I would choose Stefan. But it's not me, it's Elena, and I hope she gets with Damon!

I get the fascination with the vampires being in love with Elena, I mean she looks like Katherine, and the fact Katherine is their sire makes their relationship a bit uneasy. I mean Damon has killed so many people and revels in the dark side of his personality, he never wanted to be a vampire, but now that he is, he uses it to his utmost, but that also means that sooner or later he will want Elena to join him. Stefan on the other hand before the whole Klaus thing was more a humanized vampire, a vegetarian you could say, so even though he has the darkness he was mostly soft and gentle so Elena falls for him. The thing is both of them, have had long lives several centuries to be precise she is a teen, maybe she should try to have a few more years of normal, maybe find a nice human boy that can handle all the weirdness in her life and then she could choose ... doubt that will happen.
