If you don't get many responses to your discussions, you should consider several things.
1) Perhaps the topic is not of wide enough interest or perhaps you haven't provided enough detail about it to encourage people to post good quality responses. If YOU are descriptive when you post a topic, it shows that you have some interest in it and are expecting interesting and good quality, descriptive replies. Avoid posting questions which can be answered in just a few words.
2) Perhaps the discussion is of a kind mentioned in the Guidelines under the "DO NOT ..." section - for example a "poll type" discussion or a duplicate topic (there have been many posts recently about Whitney Houston, for example, and most are likely to be removed). Many people will avoid any discussion they think likely to be deleted. When a discussion is deleted, nobody who is involved in it gets paid. Read the Guidelines yourself frequently so that you understand and learn what is a good discussion.

Many people don't know how to use this site to it's best advantage, so you will often see posts of just a line or so. Don't worry ... it is their own fault if they then complain that the earnings are not what they expected!
Don't worry about your English you won't be (or shouldn't be) criticised for it. Many people find that MyLot is an excellent place to practice and learn English. Using a language is the best way of becoming more proficient in it.
I know it takes a lot longer to write something substantial but you will find that it pays in the long run. It also works better if you start fewer discussions of good quality and make sure that you give good quality replies to everyone who responds. You don't earn anything when someone responds to your discussion: you only earn for what YOU type!

"It also works better if you start fewer discussions of good quality ..." doesn't sound quite right! What I meant to say is:
"It also works better if you start fewer discussions but of better quality ..."

Hi!
My dear friends are kind enough to respond to my discussions, therefore, there is no question of feeling bored.
Luckily, I get sufficient number of responses when start a new post and I appreciate my friends gestures.

If there's no responses or very few it was a lame discussion for me to start apparently that it interests no one. I try my best to respond to my friends but one can't live online or on mylot all day everyday.

Hi zills: Normally when people are not being responsive to my discussions, it turns me down because I would love to get as many responses as possible but at the same time I understand that probably I haven't chosen the right subject to attract people so I should keep on trying.

i visited your profile and its seems like you just like to start discussion after discussion you never indulge in making the discussion more interesting
online liner responses well i hate those avoid this
and starting a discussion with one line post like this one well that's also a thing which you should avoid
many of the responses you get are not commented by you and this is what making other user not to take part in your topics because they know you won't reply back or make selective post to comment
mylot is not a question answer site its a discussion site
i hope you take my post in a positive way

i usually start a discussion when i have enough time to be active on it myself
creating lot of discussion is good but of no use if we our self not active in them
well nice to see you commenting now hope it benefits you even more

Hi zills truly speaking I am rather upset when I find that someone does not repond to my topic . I don't belong to those members who keep on starting discussions for the sake of earning and posting . I normally start discussions when I find an interesting topic, when I feel like sharing some of my experiences or anecdotes or when I have any doubt regarding something which I want to get clarified by the experienced members . So when such topics are unanswered or not commented upon I really feel upset .
As regards my comments to other's topic I always expect a comment back from them as I always try to do the same . I can understand that sometimes there are circumstances which prevent us to do the same and that is understandable if it happens sometimes . If this is repeated I would rather think twice before commented on topics by those users .
Good day

the only aim that i can mention that is why i am here is that, i want to learn and practice the english language written. spoken, i am used to it, written is a different thing, it takes lot of patience and dedication and that, i will not be able to make or even achieve half way, if i am not a member here...so, even me, i don't care about the cash that we can make it by our participation; i only care about what is coming in inside my head and it 's just a plain like that.
with regards on commenting and commenting back, yes i am happy but most of the time, because of language barrier, shy factor is one thing to consider - my drawbacks - as someone may laugh on me about what i am writing about.
