Education is an investment.
That is the word of Chinese government.
As it is said by the Chinese government, I really hate that. For I think education is one of the public products which should be provided by the government, while the Chinese government change it to be a way of making money.
While only looking on the sentence itself, I think education is a way to keep some precious fortune. And the good education is really a good investment.
But to children from poor families, they can not get good education in China. And many of them now they only in school for six years or even less then go to work. They think the reward of education is so less that they can not afford that.

I agree with your understanding of the sentence itself.Education is really a investment for one's own sake.Being educated can rich one's knowledges as well as broaden one's horizons.
However, as we known China is a big developing country with its large population. We could see that the reality in China doesn't allow the government to provide free education to every kids in need.
No matter how a country is wealthy or highly developed, it still has its own problem. It's true that many problems need to be dealt with on Chinese education issues, but it's also true the government trys hard to exert positive influences in rencent years. You know,it's a long way to go.
As to the meaning of the sentence,I think maybe we could draw our attention back to the sentence itself, not simply throw negative attitude on it.

Thank you for your post.
I know that the government has done something, but I do not think it do the enough job on it. When I am still a kids, I can have a classroom, I can have my music class and I can have the painting class. But now many children can not have it.
I think in most case, our government do not spend money on where it really needed, the money is wasted on the children of government officials'.

Education is a good investment but I doubt if highschools and further educations still is. There is a lot teached you will never use and I do believe you can learn a lot more while working. There are many ways to educate oneself.

Yes, the knowledge which we get before high school education is really enough for our daily life. And those we get from high school and college seems do not used often.
But the situation is that people with degree usually can earn more than the one with no degree and they can get stable job easily.
Education now become a mark the level people from different background.

Yes Education is important. Experience will get you far- but a college degree can be that one bit of discrimination that you need. Any type of higher education is a huge investment because of the foundation that it offers to several field of choice. College educations to me divide the serious from the pretenders as college requires a definite level of obedience and maturity to complete the course/curriculum requirements. With the exemption of the inventors and entrepreneurs that hold the next huge idea, college is a great training for various life experiences and must be experienced by all who can.

Hello dandan07,
Yes for me education is a good investment.I consider my case i did my engineering and my parents invested money on me and due to this degree only i am having a good job and now when i see to my school mates who did not study further they are not earning more than me so in this context education is an investment.

Education is important in life and it will be very helpful in career but I never came to mind that education is an investment because when you look at the investment concept means you are looking for returns and if you have high expectation and failed you will be disappointed... so I would say go for it and don't expect for returns..

for the poor people, if without education how will they find a good job and save money for some business. Lets not blame the government much about education because if your really willing to earn education even in a hard way, then you'll find means to reach your aim. Education is one of the best solution to poverty

It sounds right. However, some university students can't even find a job when they graduate from school. The education can't ensure you find a job. It is very ridiculous. So education is a good investment is not true. But since most families have one child only. So we are willing to support them to study and hopefully they will have a bright future.
I love China

Education is really something that without the proper tools, is just pretty much worthless. Of course, it is something that can be easily swept under the rug, as problems are going to rather going occur. Naturally there are just going to be a lot of times however where more problems occur. Education can really lead to many things, even though investment might not be the best word to describe it. However, there are just going to be times where education is extremely useful and governments don't really give it the attention it needs or when it does, its the wrong attention.

Of course, It is really one of the best investment every person should have. In my own opinion, We shouldn't blame the government on why some children were not able to sent into school. It is the responsibility of every Parents to make sure that their children will be sent into school and they get a proper education.
