Good luck to those who wish to make $4 a day here!

It never ceases to amaze me how some people here think they will get rich and not have to work a job to make a living. I just came across a discussion where the person made a goal to make $4 a day here in Mylot. I know this is POSSIBLE but not probable. I have known a mylotter (in another life) she used to have first place on the users by rating, but left about 3 years ago. She had often made $3 to $5 a day here back then. She made lots of discussions and commented back to everyone and she also had some referrals which probably helped out too. We often say if you are here for the money, you are here for the wrong reason. The money comes while having a good time here talking with people. I have made as much as $3 here once, but the usual was $1 to $2 a day here… but now I don’t try to achieve anything. I just converse here and I feel the money I make is a blessing. I make payout each month and I’m happy with that. Your thoughts, Mylotters?

Back in the day when I first started with this site, I was able to easily earn $30 or $40 a month here. I do admit I was probably a little more active than I am now in here, but this site also paid better as well back then. Personally the probabilities of someone being able to make that kind of money in here a day is about impossible unless this is the only thing they are ever expecting to do online every day. Or find some good tasks paying out. Because even when you start a lot of discussions and respond back to all of them, and respond back to others that type of income each day really does sound impossible. Wishing them the Best though.

I don't know if the pay algorithm has changed or not. Of course we will never know that, but it seems like I get paid less to respond to other discussions and more to respond to my own... that's just an observation. I can make really good (over a dollar) to host my own discussions and not even respond to anyone else's discussions. I try to balance it out some days to where I can respond to others and my own. I used to make a killing here when the tasks were open to writing for Sharon Bucks. I'd make over $100 a month just with her. But those days have passed.

Sharon Bucks still puts up tasks - of course, they are grabbed quickly! I've written several articles and get paid quite well - two and a half to over three dollars. This keeps my earnings around the 25 dollar mark each month, which is what I set my minimum cash out to.

Well I guess I would have to be one of the first ones when she does post her tasks and have the time then to work on them as I know these do go fast. I actually usually forget to check the Tasks area since my time on here most days is so limited, but being able to make a Good amount of extra income in here would be nice for sure.

hi PQ its friends like you and all my others who keep me coming back and if I make a dollar a day great, I know I am not getting rich and fun and enjoyment and being among friends are my top priorities here, money is the frosting on the cake if mylot for me. I was newly retired forcibly and angry and lonely and found mylot. Its haven , a place of therapy and a place of friendship'for me. I remember who you are talking about she left'because of several trolls who were harassing her. Her \husband was on here for awhile too.You are right, we are not going to get rich money wise but we will be rich in friendships'in learning and sharing and caring about our friends.

Yes, she was followed by trolls. Her husband had an account afterward. He didn't stay either. She made some good money here. She made a lot of silly criminal posts that made us laugh. I missed them when she was gone. You are so right.. it's the friendship and the therapeutic effect of Mylot that keeps me coming back too. I have made so many friends here that my life wouldn't be the same without you.

I can't see how I could possibly make that much a day without a lot (dozens? hundreds?) of active referrals.

That is always my issue. There are things I know nothing about, or have absolutely no interest in. I am not just going to start posting random stuff that makes no sense to raise my post count.

I made a lot of money here..even in discussions. :) I am able to vent my feelings and find some soothing replies, which calms my nerves, and brings down my blood pressure, and in the process keeps me healthy and saves me monies on medication and doctors fees. So you know I made lots of money. :) Of course, I am here for that and it is more than $4 per day, isn't it?

I don't know anyone who makes that much except one person and she isn't here anymore... but I assume people living in different countries may make more or less with the exchange rate from USD to whatever one's currency is.
15 Feb 12
That is actually true. This was created I believe to get ideas and to know what is really the real voices of people about a certain situation. In this site we converse, we ask and we share our point of views. By doing this each and everyone of us can learn to improve our knowledge. This is like a survey, you will get real inputs from different types of people around the world. We can check here if a certain topic is applicable to everyone or just in a specific geography. Joining this site is through learnings about how people react. I'm glad that I join this site. It helps me a lot in answering my questions in life. Thanks mylot!

I sign on when I have a few minutes, I only comment on things I am interested in. Some months I have more time than others. December and January were really busy and I did not make it to the cashout in the two months combined. Then there are days where I do make $2 because there are good things to comment on, or I have a good topic to start. I am not here for the money. I have a day job that provides what i need. It is kind of nice getting money in my paypal account occasionally.

Unfortunately, what I really want right now is not going to be paid for by my online earnings, unless I wait approximately 35 years. I do use my online earnings to pay for Christmas, or at least most of it.

Yes it is nice to get money in paypal. Especially letting it build up from month to month and then when it accumulates you can use it for something you want.

LOL @asyria51! I belong to the National Consumer panel - used to be the Nielson Home scan people - where I scan everything I buy each week with the scanner they sent me. You earn points through doing it which can be redeemed for prizes. The big, flat screen t.v. I want will be mine after another...ten years of scanning?

yes. that is correct. This place is only for sharing ideas and earning side by side. We cannot do more nowadays mainly on account of old age. I give my time whenever I can and I take whatever is given.

I agree with you. I could never earn $4.00 a day on myLot without any referrals. I had a couple to start but they weren't active and eventually lost interest and just stopped signing on. I don't come close to payout each month but that's my fault. My activity here is sporadic. One day I want to respond to several discussions and other days I prefer to do something else on line. But, I always come back to myLot. It's an interesting site and the discussions are so varied and interesting. Learning about other cultures or religions, etc. is always fascinating.

I could never earn that either. I have earned up to $3 once in my other account I used to have as Oreocookie3… but I’ve not had that account in a long time now. I have made over $2 here before also. I don’t think about earnings anymore.. I just think about being active and the earnings come.

Hi Winterose, Sure it is important to lots of people, even me. It adds to the monthly income that trickles in each month. Hope I’ve made enough at Examiner in the last month to get paid on the 20th.. that will help too… will be busy working that later on today.

I don't think you can make a career out of Mylot. I am here also not for the money, but for reading the discussions and then adding my opinions if I feel like it. I find that those people who are here just for the money will not stay long because they will be disappointed. The amount that you stated is a far shot and will require a lot of work. I myself have not gotten beyond $1 in a day, but this is because I rarely start discussions and will respond also in less than ten in a day. If ever there will be a contest of who has been paid the least but is the longest active member here, I would probably have a fair chance of winning. I've been here for four years and I have been paid three times. it's not that I am lazy responding to discussions, but sometimes I like to read more.

I live in the Philippines but from the start, I have been realistic when it comes to earning from this site. I don't consider what I earn online as "earnings" really. It's more like an allowance that I can use to treat myself to a nice meal, or buy two or three imported foods like Lay's potato chips. But not as a source of income where I will get money for living expenses.

Hi Anne25penn, Most of us don't try to make a career out of Mylot... but if you are from another country that benefits from the USD being multiplied into their currency, it could be more beneficial than it is for us. I usually make payout every month here, but there have been some months where I wasn't that active and didn't. I'm here for the fun of it and for my friends... and the money I get each month does help. I've thought about just leaving it here and letting it build but I've never done it.

Hi, PointlessQuestions. I think I know what discussion you're referring to since I made a response to it :) But I don't think the person who posted the topic was referring to myLot only. She had mentioned targeting $4 a day in her online earnings in general which I believe is really very doable depending on the online work you're doing. I myself make an average of $10 or more a day without myLot yet. But I do agree with you that it would be a bit improbable to earn $4 here in myLot, and I think a lot of us really knows that :)

I thought the person was talking just on here. I told him it was probably possible but would be hard to maintain. The most I've ever made in a day from posting is $3 a day...and that was just once.

It’s impossible for the time you put here… as you said 15 to 20 minutes.. yes that is impossible to make a dollar a day… but many of us make a dollar and more a day here. We spend much of our free time here chatting it up with everyone and yes… I do make a dollar and more a day sometimes. Made 70 cents yesterday and I was here for about 5 hours chatting with everyone.

Wow, you can make $1 to $2 a day? That is great. I haven't tried that. My biggest earning in a day is I guess $0.3 only. I have a full time job so it is really hard to spend too much time here. There are times that I could not participate in discussions. I know that this site is not really about making money. The money we earn here is somewhat a bonus to us. I hope I could also make payout each month.

Hi Sweetie It will never change but fortunately some realize after a while it is not just money here but also Friendship that counts where others just start complaining because they are not making enough Money and then start 100s of Discussions thinking that will work, only us oldies here know what this Site means and that earning here is a bonus but the Friends we have made are more important

Hi Gabs! So glad to see you. It’s been awhile. Yes, you are right. It is the friendships, the camaraderie that I feel here at Mylot. The money is like the dessert after a fine meal… that’s what it all means to me. I come here as a kind of therapy sometimes and other times I just feel like discussing something, or even sometimes I am looking for different points of view about something I plan to write on… there are so many reasons I’m here… but the most part that I am here is to mingle with friends like you who mean everything to me.

That is a good attitude to have. It’s great when you can make over a dollar a day here… I used to try to all the time and I made it most times, but I got burned out with it. Now I have other things to do, so I just come and go here throughout the day and night here. I’ve been asleep for several hours and I’m awake now, so thought I would come back and start earning again. The more we type the more we earn!

Well I agree if your here to make alot of money your in the wrong place. You can make a few dollars here and there but you won't get rich here. I'm here to make freinds here while making a little extra cash. I dont know how mylot splits its earnings. I notice they dont pay for every discussion you respond too. I just enjoy myself here so money is the icing on the cake for me.

Hi and a happy day to all! What you've just shared is true. if someone is here just for the money, they will end up making pressures to themselves and feeling drain afterwards. Well, its not bad aiming for money, but isnt it really good if everyone enjoys all discussion and also making the money they earn as a blessing. This can be used as a stress relief. For me, i know this makes me busy and my mind is thinking lots. In other ways, it enhances my typing skills as well. It also makes me meet friends and find interesting discussions. It wont make my mind rusty. This site is real good for enjoyment, plus count your blessings in time. Enjoy your day.
