I have always been confused about "ECOG Performance Score"... what this test is meant for? what does it really mean? How the performance is calculated? How it is defined? have you ever been through this test? What was your experience?

There is a full introduction to the ECOG Performance Score here: http://www.ecog.org/general/intro.html There are several pages which describe what it is, what it is used for and how it should me assessed and measured. It is used mainly to assess the 'wellness' of a cancer patient and, therefore, how much care they need and to provide a consistent measure of how they are progressing, either in recovery after treatment or in decline under hospice care.

As far as I know about it - This measure is used to determine whether they can receive chemotherapy, also used to measure in quality of life. Hmm

Honestly I never heard about that procedure.I am a student nurse and I am also interested to know about that procedure.I believed that for the better understanding about the procedure it would be appropriate to ask or consult a physician or medical technologies. They are the experts about that kind of procedures so they are the best source of information. Some journals or post in the internet are not good source of information and may mislead you.By the way are you going for that test?
