On youtube there is a guy called the angry video game nerd who makes fun out of old computer games, his video's on YouTube were highly successful. The nerd made a lot of money off his idea through mercandise and being signed to other websites, then along came a guy called the irate gamer. This guys ripped off the nerds idea and has made lots of money of the back of someone else's idea. Was this a smartmove by the gamer or is it morally wrong

Yes, the neverending AVGN vs Irate Gamer fight.
I find that the Irate Gamer copied the idea from AVGN and even does this poorly. But still gets lots of fans. But really, it's not illegal because anybody can make reviews of games and be really angry and shouting swear words. It's normal that if an idea works, everybody else tries to copy this. But surely, this is morally wrong. Why not make an own idea? Maybe this will make you more successful and less hated.

I believe its wrong but if he is driving around with a nice sports car and has a big house with a swimming pool maybe he is right and we are wrong.

Hi olliekobra1,
From what you're described I don't think it's morally wrong to use another person's idea if it appears publicly. Ideas cannot be patented so therefore cannot be protected in that sense. As long as the other person does not copy his method or words it is not illegal. Have a good day.
