People commenting on your discussions

I was wondering that do I earm something when someone comments on a discussion which I have started? Didnt see this anywhere else so I decided to ask this way : ) It would be nice if we earned for that too : )

It's REALLY easy to figure out. If I do some work, why would YOU get paid? YOU earn for what you type and I earn for what I type. That way it's fair. Think of this, too. It's all fine and dandy to START a discussion but, until you come back and reply to those who responded with something relevant, original and which contributes to the discussion, you haven't really done anything much ... and it CERTAINLY ain't a discussion! Think about your topics. Are they likely to encourage good quality responses? Are you capable of giving good quality replies (as comments) to those responses? If not 'yes' to both those questions, you are better off participating in other people's discussions.

I got your points but I was thinking that it would be a way to encourage people to open new discussions which would encourage people to make high quality answers. Thank you for answering tho : )

Actually, no - quite the reverse! If people earned more according to the number of responses they received (and/or their quality, even), they wouldn't be encouraged to REPLY to the responses (something many people here don't seem to understand) and therefore there would be plenty of topics, plenty of responses but no discussions! I know that there are forums which reward you for a 'thread' posted and also so much for each response you get. MyLot is much more sophisticated and much more logical because you actually have to use your brain here!

You say that you didn't see anywhere.... well, in the FAQs here: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx we are told: "If you earned nothing, then you didn’t post anything" which means, as the response above suggests, that I earn for what I type and you earn for what you type, just like anything that you do offline too If I don't type, I don't earn and the same goes for you too because you won't earn when I type

It is a good system when you think about it because what is that point of starting a discussion then not replying unless you are just collecting comments. That is ok to do though I wouldn't call it a discussion. If you interact into your discussion you get paid and the person commenting does as well. Makes sense to me.
