politicians say that the general quality of life is improving allround. But a glance around will give a different picture altogether. There is poverty around the worl. The rich is getting richer and the poor more poor. Its only the techies who are making money while the rest are still struggling to make ends meet.If only one section of the society develops is this qualitative improvement?

I wouldnt say its only the techies that are making money. People owning the patents to technology are better off.
Technology itself has made differences in some respects. We dont loose people to sickness as often...however there are times that technology and modern medication saves someone who ends up not having the quality of life one would wish to have.
Its made some jobs easier...some jobs are totally obsolete now which isnt good. Its also made people lazier.
Imagination in kids isnt used as often - they also get less physical exercise as often kids spend most of their time in front of the tv or video games.

In the end, technology is in fact what it always is and that is that it is a tool. I think that when used in the right hands, technology really can improve a lot about modern life. But in other ways, it has rather detracted. Of course, modern technology is done, it is the thing, we are most certainly not going to devolve even if some people would have thought that we were. What is done is done after all to say the very least.
It has made the exchange of information a little bit easier, which I do in fact thing is a good thing for sure. On the other hand, it has made certain crimes and fraud a bit easier. The big thing is that there are two sides to pretty much every story. There are just times where technology is just going to be used in any number of ways. You just need to go with it. The quality of life has improved and it has also caused more than a few headaches. Every advance that has happened has had problems, that is just the way things go.

I think we have positive and negative of everything .Yes technology is improving our lives as well its worsening our lives .With use of machines we get our work done easily by machines but its also causing lot of diseases due to lack of physical activity due to use of machines .
Gap between rich and poor has increased too much that's something politicians are responsible to maintain as they are choosen to govern people of their country and help poor people .

I think it's helped and hurt us. As we move into the 'technology' era it seems like we have less appreciation for things outside of the media/technology we have in front of us. For example, seems like kids now days (gosh I feel old saying that LOL) sit and play video games all day instead of running around outside like I used to (and playing 'house' and all that fun stuff that required imagination!) But the technology we have also makes life more convenient for us, too. So it seems to be a double-ended sword if you ask me.

technologies are here to give comfort to our lives, if you use it correctly it gives good benefits but if you abuse its true purpose that's the time it will bring us down.

Imagine life without television, radios, computers, etc.
Horrible isn't it? So did I answer your question? :)

No. Infact the more advanced in technology we become, the poor we get. This is because technology is simply killing industries that used to employ people. Many jobs has been replaced by technology and requires only few people to manage or none at all. The gap between the rich and poor will always keep on growing unless the world realize this and start implementing programs that are more favorable to the poor population than the rich.
