I have finalley made an agreement for my 12 year old brother to start reading. I am a fluent reader, I love to read and I really want him to get the same habit. I know it is very important to read, it is proven scientificley that it enhances brain function due to neuron stimulation obtained from your word association while reading. You get smarter just because you imagine or so Im told! Let's hope he fonally starts reading, he is a smart boy but he spends too kuch time on the computer and I want to avoid this.

Reading is very good for anyone. I do read even when on the computer. Not as in books but in here there is so much to read, for example that I consider this my "book" of all books. I read alot on the web. Thats probably why I lack the desire to read paperback books, sadly.

The internet also has many websites that post news articles on many subjects. I love to find well crafted news articles. I give credit to those who like to write, you can feel the passion in the way they articulate their words. When people know how to write, you can be sure that in your mind you will feel as in a movie.

That is awesome that you are trying to get him to learn to love reading. You can help him find books that he like by taking him to a library and helping him borrow books he might like.

So what exactly is your agreement? I'm glad that you made that pact with your brother, though, whatever it is. Being 12 years old...Not a lot of kids seem to be keen on reading these days. I'm lucky - my half sister, who is 9 and going on 10, absolutely LOVES and ADORES reading - she's always reading!! It's great!! And she's only in 4th grade, but reads at like a 7th grade level or some ridiculous jump in grade levels like that. I definitely think, when you're that young - practice makes PERFECT! The more you read, the more you learn, the more you comprehend, and the faster of a reader you get. It's a win win! I love reading too. Me and my sis must share a common gene. Anyway, good for your brother! I hope he starts to really enjoy reading!
