Three Channels of Happiness

I have shortlisted three ways of finding happiness in life. 1. Feel Good Pleasures Tasty food, love from the desired person, scenic beauty, etc make the first channel of happiness providing pleasures through five sensory organs sensing scenes, sounds, touches, smells, and tastes. These sensuous pleasures are transient for short duration but may lead to the person's happiness if repeated frequently. 2. Happiness of Moral Deeds Those who realize that human life has a higher purpose than just surviving and reproducing find happiness in moral deeds such as compassion for others, charities, creative works, etc in a selfless way. 3. Autotellic Experiences When a person is fully engrossed in something that that he/she misses his/her conscious self, sense of time and nothing else attracts his/her attention, he/she finds a real happiness not only after performing the task but during the performance itself. Detailed discussion on these issues may be read at - http://theosoph-universeofmind.blogspot.in/2012/02/three-channels-of-happiness.html

though i agree, but what would one say to people who find happiness by doing wrong things...like teasing, stealing, gossiping, and mind it, it is not difficult to find such people all around

People who intentionally harm others through their bad conduct harm themselves too. Their sub-conscious minds know that they are wrong and keeps on reminding therm about this. With this, they develop a guilt consciousness and suffer heavily. Just ignore them, if you can't punish them without harming yourself. But, please don't do the same thing with them.

Most people are caught up by the first pleasure, material enjoyment and our body is constantly seeking to satisfy that. Number 2 is much more rare but indeed those who have the habit to do so will also share their happiness with others. I think Point number 3 would apply to those with an intense interest, such as artist, musician or scientist. I am not such a person as I have a short attention span but I do understand the concept behind it. Thanks for sharing this interesting information.
