What about a unpaid thread in this MyLotf?

I'm seeing many people who just share their joy when they get paid either by MyLot or any other site. And it's being reported as 'Celebrating milestone' and then gets deleted.
I'm not talking about people who do it knowingly, but there are people who do it out of excitement and happiness. And this being a discussion board, I don't think there is anything wrong in celebrating it.
May be there should be an unpaid interest and people may be asked to post their discussions on getting paid by any site under that interest. At least let them share their joy.
What do you think?

Hello venkataraman_vc,
I also think they should be but nothing is in our hand as these are the guidelines laid by Mylot and we are supposed to follow them.No doubt these are discussions and people should be allowed to share their joy and feelings with their friends on Mylot. But imagine if all of us are allowed to post discussions about milestone then there would flood of discussions talking about milestone here in Mylot and it would be difficult for us to find the interesting discussions and may be we will loose interest in Mylot.

I said there should be a separate category (like we have 'Life', 'Make Extra Money', etc.) and members should be allowed to post such things under that category only. Anything that posted under that interest need not qualify for earnings.
If your friends get paid, you will get a notification when they post it. Otherwise, it won't affect anybody's activity, I think.
May be they will just take up space. Otherwise there won't be any harm, I think.

hello my friend, yeah but I think in any society and it's the same with sites, there are certain rules and laws or guidelines that has to be followed, in real life or in law there is a saying that "ignorance of the law excuses no one". Cool idea but if the primary guideline is " not to create discussions regarding milestones",then I think nothing should be created that would supercede what is the higher guideline, the same way no laws should be passed or created that would be contradictory to the constitution which is considered the highest law of the land , anyway it's just my idea, have a nice day!

Yes. The rules are made just to keep the community clean. I think unless it is controversial, a simple "I got paid" message to the community won't be wrong. And if it is in a classified category it's not going to affect others at all. And, the admin would be relieved of little pressure of moderating.
Just my idea.

We already have an unpaid place where we can place such information and we can put other things too - our profile.
When we are paid we can upload proof of payment there with a few lines and even a screenshot of our activity to show what we did to earn the amount that we received.
I am not in favour of an unpaid interest as I think our profile is the right place for posting about getting paid.

If you don't take it otherwise, I'd say I can post my payment proof and still make it a discussion without being deleted. Is that you want?
If there is a separate interest for that others need not mind it. (Like we have interests on 'cats', 'dogs' etc. These interests least bother me. Can't they have their cats' things on their profiles? Why a separate interest?)
And it's really embarrassing to see when I congratulate my friend and it gets deleted. How do I know that he/she got paid? Should he/she PM me? And I really want to encourage him/her. How do I do this?
I'm neither for nor against a separate interest. Just thought they deserve to share the joy with us.

Just in case you didn't see it above, I will repost here what we are told in the Guidelines:
"Don't Start discussions promoting a milestone, such as birthdays, anniversaries, reaching a certain myLot rating, etc. This is best celebrated via private messaging with your myLot friends"
http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx
If there was an unpaid interest for payments, would we then need one also for celebrating birthdays (and everything else) too?

I have replied above.
I vote for that celebrations too.

It is difficult. myLot is different from the other sites. I also see site that have this kind of category. It is so wonderful idea. I do not know other people but for me, it is a good idea. It is not bad if we share it to all our members, but as I said, it depends on a site. myLot is different from other site and all site have different guidelines to follow, so it depends on a site if they want that kind of idea, but for me, I would say that it is a good to have an unpaid interest category, so that some members would enjoy to the fullest.

let's we talk about what is discussion meaning. well, i hard to say it in english. but as we know: between discussion and promoting is different. if just about share happines, that is not discussion. i think that why some post get deleted.

I understand.
But, here in this forum itself many people have posted many discussions ranting about something. When that kind of discussion is allowed, this also deserves to be allowed, at least under an unpaid interest.

from that sample, i think you can see, what is discussion, what is sharing, or promoting. mysdianait has give you another ref link to guidelines.

hi I think you are referring to chat box type of section where members type in comments. I have seen that in prize live. well if the authorities take notice, they might include it.

hi venkataraman vc I think that mylot would think that a waste of money the unpaid section. Also everyone should remember like it
or not mylot owns this site so it is their rules that run the
show.If they allowed celebration of milestones they would fill
up the whole site with no room for discussions on many other
topics.there are I am sure on the web sites that will allow
people to post milestone discussions to their hearts content as
they are definitely unpaid. I feel since mylot owns this site
I do not feel that we need an unpaid anything.

You are right venkata....
There should be an option where a mylotter can express their feelings and moments. Apart from your said events, i wish to tell that, say... a mylotter is about to leave mylot for days.... if s/he post a discussion here regarding that issue, then it will be deleted. And it carries our anxiety for the absence. So, i agree there should have an option.
Have a nice time.

Hi there, I like your suggestion. It would really nice to have a feature like that here in mylot. At least people could express how happy they are in their current life. I know, because I had a post recently about my mylot star and then later on it was deleted by the site admin. That was really disappointing. :-(

I believe it gets deleted because it seems to be a repeated discussion which is against mylot's guidlines. They want new discussions, not the same being repeated. Then it looks to them like it is copied.I haven't started any new discussions in a long time.I'm out,I don't know anything new to start one about. Now I just answer them.

If you ask me, in a sense I would also agree with you.
We must however keep in mind that "site where you are, the rules that you find," that these like us or not.
Basically, I understand that many times we would like to write reviews these "milestones" but the rules prevent it in this site.
This is because are we members, to having to adapt to the rules of the site (see guidelines), certainly not the site can adapt to our needs.
I am sorry to say but this is the truth

It is personal interest that he want to share his joy by writing his expression on the discussion board. This is one type of encouragement that we get bby reading and rsponding such type of discuion, if we don't read such type of discussion we keep of thinking weather people earn through internet or this is just myth.

Hi Venkat,
I agree with your words. I recently came across with the below words:
"Discussions with milestones are not encourage in myLot and such type of discussions/posts should be avoided. If not avoided, then such type of discussions are deleted by myLot and no payment will be awarded to that discussion/post.
If anything is wrong in my words, please correct me.

Just participate in more discussions. Try to post at least 8 to 10 lines of contents. (Don't use "Thank you", "best wishes" or anything like that to fill up.) If you can make a post in lesser words, but still good quality, don't worry about the line count. (The earnings differ between posts based on the quality.)

Well it's been listed as the Don't and I do not think too that it will ever be changed. Since this is a discussion site celebrating the payments we received here won't ever be considered a discussion. I guess what we can do is to put it on our blogs or on profile page so that we can show them whether this site is really paying or not.
