When we "started off as apes", there were no apes. Both us, and apes, have evolved from the same species, but it was not a human, nor an ape... it's called an Australopithecus, and nowadays, they don't exist, because they evolved into apes, and humans.
All animals look alike. The structure to our bodies is so incredibly similar, we have similar systems of bones through our bodies, the muscles work the same, our digestive system has the same parts, our nose, mouth, ears and eyes all work the same, our blood works the same, there are so many similarities.
Some of the best examples of our similarities is things like our tail. We have a tailbone, still, but we have no tail. It's exactly like that in apes, only ours is shorter. We also have an appendix, which is in all mammals, but ours isn't working anymore. Even better is whales... THEY STILL HAVE HIND LEGS! They don't go on the ground, it's not a part of their fins, but they still have the legs in their bodies.
People do look like monkeys. Ape and human faces and bodies have more similarities then us and any other species, because we're the closest related.
You know what else conflicted with God's word? When people like Galileo said that the earth was not the center of the universe. Many scientists were killed, or excommunicated from society by the churches, for saying that. Now, the Christians have admitted that they were wrong, because there's too much proof otherwise. When will you finally realize that evolution has such a huge scientific basis behind it... it wasn't made up, it was studied, and a conclusion has been found.

I think the real question is why did, the super power or being or god if you like, lay down the laws that govern the way the universe works so that life will start under certain conditions and again in the right conditions evolve into more and more complex forms and eventually evolve a creature with a brain capable of asking these sort of questions. For all we know, and the latest discoveries in astronomy suggest it is likely, there may well be living beings on other planets capable of asking the same questions. We know from some of the fossils that there were dinosaurs that walked on two legs and had claws which they could use like hands. They had crenuated brains which us a sign of an intelligent brain. So it could well be that if that astroide had hit the earth 65 million years ago had missed an intellent dinosoar may have evolved and humans may never have existed. Be assured that had that happened the god we are talking about would not have cared one jot. As huamns we do have to wonder what it is all for but of course we are never going to know not in our life time anyway

The human species is a product of an evolutionary train stretching back to the first single cell organisms.

Nobody created human, Humans are the result of more than a billion years of evolution. The only real "purpose" for humans is to live our lives, and do what we can for the rest of our species, in trying to make the world better then it was when we were born. Even that concept, has evolved through us.

Selective breeding is not evolution at work. Evolution is not directed and is not pointed at an outcome. Selective breeding is a form of genetic engineering.

First of all, a chicken is a bird. All birds have the same common setup. A bird is a feathered, winged, bipedal, warm-blooded, egg-laying, vertebrate. Any animal that has those qualities, is a bird, and chickens also have all of those.
Between a cat and a dog, it's really difficult to see the differences! They both have nearly identical skeletal structures, the same jaws and teeth, the same kind of fur, the same organs... they are very closely related mammals!
Here's another one for you to think of, can you see how a wolf looks like a Chihuahua? Well, funny thing is, Humans Made Chihuahuas! We did selective breading over thousands of years, and we turned wolves into every single kind of pet dog that is living on the planet, today. It all started with one dog, and we turned it into thousands. Same goes for things like cats and horses and cows and pigs... any animal we breed, we made them that way. Even wilder, is vegetables, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, and way more, came from a single plant, that we just grew in the way we wanted, and we made tonnes of different vegetables.
This is evolution at work!

darwins theory is not 100% correct and i think evolution is face where can you see a cat looks like a dog? where can you see a bird looks like a chicken?
from now you cant see it because evolution is not true.
but i think some human looks like money hehe.

I would say that God is everywhere and everything and everyone.. All things. So the answer to this question would lie within each of us, but not in the rational mind. As the human brain is not really capable of answering such a question, but the inner spirit that lives in each of us is. _Derek

Hi Jhovarie, That is an interesting question and it seems that everyone has a different opinion. The first question for many is who or what is God, or is there even a supreme being at all? My problem with religion is that it teaches that there is a God that is separate from his creation. I think that there is a purpose behind life on this planet and throughout the universe, but we are unlikely to discover the answer in this lifetime. Instead of worrying about why we are here, let's be thankful for life and try to make this world a great place for all living things. Blessings.

Ecclesiastes 12:13
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep his commandments. for this is the whole duty of man.
God didn't create robots. He gave us all free will, so we can obey, or we can rebel.

I think God made man in His image to have someone He could love and be loved by and someone He could communicate with.

I'm not really sure why God created humans. I believe he was sorry about creating humans at one time. Maybe God was lonely and wanted someone to have companionship with him. Maybe he wanted people to worship him and make God their everything.
I also think God did give man the dominion over the earth, but I don't think man has cared for it very well.. and that may be due to ignorance or greed. I think the main reason God created human beings was for the worship and relationship that man and God can have together.

GOD created human being ,in my view, for doing progress in terms of construction ,creation and making life on earth more and more comfortable .The basic aim was to make earth a better place .Human being was given mind to create new and better things .I think that's why GOD created human beings .

I think God created people to have a relationship with, to love them because He chooses to and to be loved by them because they choose to.
