I'm always thinkng of how to celebrate my baby's first birthday. If we are going to celebrate it on a local fastfood chain like jollibee or mcdonalds, im thinking if she will enjoy it since she's too young, plus the budget will be around 20k. Should we just do it at home, but there will be a lot of preparation if we do so. Any advice or experience you can share? TIA.

An intimate get together with those closest to you and your family. They are right. A year old cannot really remember how he or she spent their first birthday.
Though every milestone in a child's life is very important, we must also consider the practicality of throwing a party that he or she cannot remember let alone enjoy.

"the budget will be around 20k" seriously??!! That is a little too much for a one year olds birthday. I think a cupcake in a highchair may cost $3. Then you would have $19997.00 left.

Hi jasmin!
I don't think celebrating it in a fast food restaurant would be good for a first birthday. I mean, it's just like you said, your baby is too young to enjoy this kind of celebration. He wouldn't even appreciate the mascots or the food. Well, even if you do it at home, he would still not enjoy the food but still, I think it would be best to celebrate it at home with your family, relatives and close friends. It would be too much work and it would take a lot of preparation but hey, it's your baby's first birthday. It would only happen once in his life.

I think that for the first birthday you should do it at home and then later when she is older if a party out in the community is something that is expected in your family do it when your child will remember it. Here one thing we do is have birthday parties at roller skating rinks, bowling alleys and of course pizza/game places like Chucky Cheese when the kids get older. I would celebrate at home the first few years and then when your little girl is old enough to remember it then plan a party some place special.

Welcome to mylot jasmin
Do it at home lol, you can hire services of a caterer they do every thing for you, no headache.
I was in Davao in 2004, my host celebrated birthday party this way.
Best of luck.

A first birthday isn't going to be anything a baby will remember. I would just have family and cake and icecream. Takes lots of pictures. That would be my main adbise. Pictures down through the years are great to look back on. Seeing changes and marks along the way is fun to do.

I guess you like to do the best for your baby...I mean we all do but she is still so young! why don't you make a home party this way the baby will be comfortable and so will you...if you are worry about the preparations you can ask your family for help or engage a catering company to do all the cooking, serving and cleaning if you have the money to do it that is the best option and just think about it! at the end of the day you will be more relaxed and so will your husband and baby will be a very happy baby indeed...I hope you have a great day and happy birthday to baby!!!
