I have a friend, even she is pregnant but his favorite food is spicy one. Is this spicy food advisable to the pregnant? Can you share your views?

I can't remember if the spicy food would hurt the baby or not, but as for the mother, I think the drawback would be as the baby gets bigger, she may suffer from heartburn more often. I didn't eat spicy food "all" the time during my pregnancies, but I know I did sometimes..Plus, aren't there cultures where their main diet is spicy foods?

Most ladies have problems with there digestive systems during pregnancy, spicy foods could produce more acid problems. For that reason alone it might be advisable to ease off on spicy foods. I know of no medical reason why spicy foods should not be eaten during in pregnancy, so I would say if you have no ill effects then feel free to eat what you like.

I dont think eating spicy food when pregnant will hurt the baby at all. If she can eat it and it doesnt bother her then I am sure that it is fine. Usually pregnant women get heartburn and spicy foods would just make it worse. If that is not a problem for her then she should probably be fine to eat it.

Directly, spicy foods do not disturb fetal growth. However, if the cause vomiting and diarrhea, can trigger dehydration (lack of fluids and electrolytes), and the declining supply of other micronutrients, which could affect fetal growth and development. Caused a burning sensation after eating chili in the stomach, will affect the baby in the womb is still soft, highly sensitive, and can interfere with neural development, especially the skin.

I think, there's nothing wrong with that as long as the food being eaten are nutritious. Actually, there are some benefits of having that diet while pregnant, eating spicy foods will help mothers conceive good babies! If the babies being conceived are girls, then the result will be "spice girls". If they are males, then we'll have "sice boys"! Isn't good?
