I also want to to lose weight but i agree,it is really hard. Sometimes i avoid eating to much just to lose weight but later i will found my self craving for some foods and I think i need a self discipline when it comes in eating food because i really cannot control my eating hobbit. Before i lost five founds because i'am drinking tea that can help me to lose my interest in eating. I feel to tired to eat but i cannot found it again in the store where i buy it so it become hard for me to lose again.

Instead of going on a diet why don't you just try cutting down on your food intake to start with and that way when you go on your diet your body will be used to having less food and it won't be quite as such a shock to it.
Instead of say having two slices of toast with jam on for breakfast. have two slices of toast but only have jam on one of them, then the next day have two slices of toast and no jam, then the next have a slice and half of toast, then the nest just have one piece of toast with spread
The same with the biscuits, instead of eating five biscuits just have four and eat a bit slower and so forth.
Put your dinner on a smaller plate and it will look huge.
I'm a mum at home a lot so I try to have breakfast as late as possible or when my tummy says I must eat as it is so hungry, that way at lunch I eat less food and want lunch later as well and don't need so much tea to eat. I eat porridge for breakfast as it is filling and classed as a power food, which relases slowly over a couple of hours.
Keep a food diary and try and find a list of calories so you know what is being put in your food intake.
Try not to eat after your tea and if you do make it fruit and veggies , they do fill you up believe me, I'm an old hand at all this. If you are hungry have some food as liquid fills you up more and stays in your system longer, this has been proven correct. Some packet soup only has 70 calories a packet. A well known comic in England called Jimmy Carr lost loads of weight and that was by only drinking soups after his tea.
And don't forget ot do some excerise.. I do a lot of wiifit plus, jogging on the spot etc as I can do it when I have time to do it (when children are in bed). But walking fast ot the shops, bike riding and swimming are all very good for you.
Last bit of advice, think before you eat anything, ask your body if it really needs it or is it because you are bored or just fancy it? If body says yes, wait 30 mins and ask it again, normally after 30 mins my body doesn't really want anything in it. If you can't wait 30 mins try 15 mins and if body still really wants it just eat half of what you would normally eat.
Drink fuilds, lots of them , water, squash drinks as sometimes our body needs a drink and we think it wants food. Water before a meal fills you up and stops you eating more. And I find a good cuppa tea fills the hunger gap until food time.
Hope I have helped you or at least given you some ideas that you can play around with to suit your needs and life style

If you read my discussion on will power you will see that I gave you good advice, but not what I have been following! sometimes it is so much easier to give the advice rather than follow the advice you give!
But you willbe pleased ot konw I'm back on track, have found will power, have done really well for almost a week and lost a couple of pounds in weight and don't want the junk food anymore.
Hope you are doing well and have manamged to put some of our advice nito practice.. it is very hard sometimes I do know that

Ha ha, I know the feeling. I finally have given up on dieting. I may try again soon. I tend to lose weight, but then I lose motivation as well and end up eating poorly again and becoming lazy again. I guess the only real problem we face is self discipline and motivation. But we just can't give up on ourselves! We need to keep at it! Good luck to you - and wish me good luck as well!

You can say that again. Besides that, weight is the only thing I haven't been able to control in my life. Now, I've about got smoking licked, but not the weight. I was bony all my life to the point that people made fun of me for being too skinny. Mom always told me I looked like I had a terminal disease. I've been called ostrich legs, birds legs and so on.
At 56, I started gaining weight, a few pounds every year. Now I cannot believe what I weight. I wear big shirts now. They cover the mounds I used to not have. Oh well. I want to start walking again, but I just don't keep it up, and I can't walk like I used to because of the way I feel physically. The old body just ain't what it used to be, you know!

Yes I have been getting bigger in the last few years, but that is definitely not I want. I want to get smaller. When I make up my mind, I will get rid of some of this awful weight.

It is hard. I made it and lost 11 kilos. It is all in your mind. Eat slow, 5 meals a day and find some kind of exercise. Bike, walking or swimming.

hi there, i have this kind of trouble too, things is i am trying to lose fat in particular areas only, i dont want to lose weight as such, that never helped me. But, what i found out is that you have to fit and not thin to be attractive, a fit body reflects a good health life, which is far better than a thin one. So, i would advice you to take a balanced diet, dont starve yourself, go a meal full of raw veggies and fruits i'll satisfy your appetite and would enable you to reduce your food intake. take this only one time a day, let say dinner, and most importantly exercise, its a must. hope this helps, have a good day

I know the feeling. Maybe you are restricting yourself too hard or being too hard on yourself, and that's why you end up giving up or failing. Maybe you should try to take baby steps. Start small and gradually work a little harder at it. Start going on mile-long walks three times a week. Quit drinking soda. Quit eating fast food, if you do. Drink more water. Small things like that make a huge difference. Best of luck to you..

The best way to lose weight is a good diet and lots and lots of exercise that should hopefully keep the weight off but make sure you start slow and gradual or else you could risk injuries. Good luck and i hope you start to lose weight soon
