Donating Plasma?

Has anybody here ever donated plasma for money? I know that there are no places by me where you can do it for money. I've donated blood before. When I go back home from college, I'll probably try to donate plasma for money because you go twice a week and the payout is $60, which is really nice. I know that you're not supposed to do it a lot though because it can really mess up your veins and cause permanent damage, but going once a month or so doesn't seem like a bad way to earn a little bit of extra money on the side. It's just like MyLot but a little more uncomfortable!
Anybody have any stories about this?

Here in Canada I don't think we can sell blood but we donate it for free. Even if we could sell plasma, I don't think I would ever do it for money. Anyways, good luck with selling (not the same thing as donating which is doing it for free) your plasma...

Your response seems a bit antagonistic. I donate my blood whenever I have the opportunity. I don't see the harm in donating plasma and getting compensation for it though. It's still donating. I'm simply being compensated for my time. The same as sperm donation is compensation for the person's time. It's still doing a good deed.

i also hear it from my place. but i never try it as their is limitation as to the weight requirement. i am petite with slim body so i am not really qualify. though, n your case if you already have experience the plasma and blood is a different things. so that a nice income and helps a lot. as long as you keep your body strong with lot of vitamins and healthy supply of food you could easily gain your resistance.

"It's just like MyLot but a little more less uncomfortable"... Absolutely NOT!
It seems like you feel making extra money on MyLot as a sacrifice, that way you won't get far with this, you will get bored before you reach cashout limit! People that actually have fun on MyLot and don't care for the money are the ones that make a decent profit of it. About donating plasma I wouldn't do it because I believe there are more important things that money in life and health is one of these, I wouldn't do anything that could be bad for my health just for money!

Hi Mrconrad, over here, the government does not pay us for donating plasma or blood.
The only benefit is a medical card which allows a discount for medical consultation for self and one family member.
It is not true that donating plasma will mess up veins.
The only problem is when you face inexperienced nurses who poke and poke, and still cannot get the veins.
The money is not a great deal, but your blood can save those in need.

Hello MRconrad01,
No i have never donated plasma but i have donated blood many times.I don't think its good to sell blood or plasma there are other ways to earn money we should try those and not to earn money from selling our blood or body parts.

I can't donate blood or plasma though I wish I could, it's a great thing that you can save lifes with.
I heard that there are free bus trips here where I live that people can take and go to the hospital where you can donate plasma. It is said they can't pay for the donation, but they do for your time/travel, it's a smaller symbolic amount.

Yes, anyone can do it. You can sell your blood (not donate). But it is not a good practice. Do it only when there are no other options to earn money. As long as there are plenty of other options, don't do it.
