Genrally, persons are not happy with people around themselves. Further, it is important to have likable persons and things around for a happy mindset and performance efficiently. For this requirement and not finding such people in one's locality, persons look out for alternatives. internet connectivity provides an easy option to every body to join social network sites, make friends there and interact with them. This provides a limited satisfaction to persons for meeting their socializing needs. This makes social network sites popular.
The phenomenon is triggered by overall moral degradation of humanity due to which most of the persons feel helpless and dissatisfied in their surroundings. It is not that people on social network sites are of high moral characters, but on the contrary, they too are like we find in our surroundings. But for limited information available about these persons and limited interaction with them, their presence as friends in not disliked.
But this phenomenon is going to be short-lived as people will soon realize that people remain the same whether they are in a local neighborhood or a social network site.

People really want some mindless fun from the comfort of their own computer. Of course, social networks really do seem like a rather simple thing to get sucked right into, for the simple reason that they are a really simple thing to get sucked into. It is very easy to be liked on the Internet, and while it takes a lot more effort in real life.
Of course, the mask that many people wear on a social network, I'm kind of reluctant to take anyone at face value. People tend to get sucked right onto that world very easily, as there is fewer expectations and naturally there are many other features on social networks that appeal to the masses. And as much as I dislike social networks on principle, one can keep up with the news. Although a lot of false rumors have been started there.

We can know the friends in social networking sites, but it is not all entirely true ... It is possible that a number of them may be real communication in the life ...

The people are addict to social networks because they love to finding new friends which is good entertainment for them. They feel happy have a website for them where a place to find friends, profile for them, sharing info and feel happy doing some stuff. The social network being a good simple to create site in few minutes and do a lot stuff.
