007 Casino Royal

yup, i watched that movie when it came out with my girlfriend! ^^ i thought the movie was just alright.. maybe i expected too much? i dunno, but basically, i was a little disappointed with this movie. the storyline was not that creative, and the poker game was basically a way to make the movie longer. there also wasn't really any cool gadgets like the previous versions and the chicks in the movie weren't that hot. although daniel craig is a good actor in general, i dont' think he fits the james bond character quite well. he looks old and rugged, and didn't seem that charmful. when i think of a james bond, i imagine a slick, good-looking/handsome, charming guy that is not afraid of anything. the james bond in here didn't give me that sort of impression. anyways, if i were to rate this movie, i would give it a b- or c+.

It is a kinda love and hate movie. Love the movie enough to be willing to sit thru the whole show, hate it enough to not want to keep it. I bought the DVD for the sake of completing the collection. Else, it is not worth it to buy and keep. A good movie to fill up that void during the weekend IMHO. I managed to watch the DVD during the weekend and found the action really good. That is all. The storyline is not much of a wow... but it is watchable. This is my take on the movie. The action sequeces were good. Vey high impact with lots of adrenaline pumping scenes. This new James Bond is really brutal when he handles the bad guys. No mercy. No feelings when he offs them. In fact, he seems to get off on it. I was a little lost in the beginning of the show as the mission of 007 is not very clear. It was only after Bond broke into M's apartment that I have a little idea of what his mission is about. Comparing with the previous installments of the Bond saga, Royale Casino cannot hold a candle to any of them. Other than a high action pack movie, it does not bring about the mystery and suspense that the other movies has.
