What kind of shopper are you?? Do you shop til you drop or do you shop like I do?? I know what I'm going to buy before I even go in the store. I'm in and out as quickly as possible. Most women love to shop while most men hate it. Why is that?? What makes shopping so exciting for women?? I could never spend hours upon hours in the rat race of shopping. How do they do it??

You go just once in 4 to 6 months??? That really sounds good to me. Most women I know hit the stores every weekend. For me, if I don't need the item, I won't be out looking or shopping for it. I think lots of women go out just to see what is new out there. This leaves them vulnerable to a flashy item or a good sales pitch or display. Yes, I can see the wisdom in that 4 to 6 month span.

My monthly purchases - one evening. And my clothes and other things once in four or six months. I am lazy bird..lol So not sure it is wisdom. :) But even then, I dont really enjoy shopping..I hate sounds..I like absolute pin drop silence..kind of place and I cant afford to go in stores like that. :) So..it is like an ordeal..get it over and done with.:)

I think the same with most of men.I wonder if it is because most of women keep house and take charge of shopping,so practice makes perfect,if not ,women cut out for shopping. As to shopping ,My wife does know a thing or two and always has a good buy.I hate to go together with her for shopping. She seems to be interested in everything in the store,I often come to the point where I have to urge her to get out.

Sometimes a man must be careful to prevent his wife from shopping them into the poor house. Women are better at nesting. Maybe that is why they like shopping so much. I know they are better at finding bargains than men are. I have had women save me money just by their suggestions.

Most women like shopping and consider it as an entertainment journey. On the contrary most of the men who they see as a difficult and tired task. Therefore most men try to finish them as soon as possible, But the ladies take a long time in this task, and usually do not buy from the first place they enter. In this area, Women are more patient than Men.

Yes, women are much more patient at shopping than men. Maybe this is why they are so good at finding bargains. Interesting, women do not usually buy from the first store they enter?? I almost always buy from that first store.

Hi bird: well I am a guy and I know what exactly I want to buy so I just go for it and I enjoy my shopping. I generally look for both best prices and quality and ebay is one of the places I use the most to buy online. I don't like wasting too much time deciding what to buy but I know this has to be with boy's personality. Girls usually care the most about the details. ALVARO

a pleasant day bird123, with reference to your main topic, i am not that type. although i used to say the expression, "i will shop til i drop" but in reality i am no doing that. as i really value my income that much so i am observant to all of my expenses. another thing, i have learned a lot from experienced that i should not buy those things which i do not need at the moment. wherein, those things are just there in the store and can be purchase anytime i need it but it is not advisable to buy those and stock it at home hence it will just depreciate easily because of the proper storage and handling. and these various reasons are the ones helping me not to shop until i drop.

Yes, good idea. Let the store hold onto it until we really need it. I know we are all on a limited budget with this economy. We must make sure we don't get underwater with our finances.

Since I have no money to spend on frivilous things, I am a person who goes in with a list and gets what is on that list and gets back out. Back when I did have disposable income, I would do an occasional shop til you drop trip, but that was few and far between.

Yes. I always carry a list. When a flashy item catches my eye, I always ask myself if I really do need it. Most of the time the answer is no. I have also realized that the longer one stays in the store after finding that flashy item; the greater the odds are you won't buy it. This is when one should take their time.

I don't know what makes shopping so exciting for women in general. Personally I love clothes, so when I find ones that fit and are cute and are a good price, I just HAVE to buy them. I have tons and tons of clothes. I could probably go months without doing laundry, wearing everything in my closet once. . I don't generally 'shop till I drop' because, the money runs out way faster than my energy does!

I guess that means there isn't a chance of you wearing any of your clothes out. I'm afraid mine get worn out before I shop. Of course, this might just be me trying to avoid shopping.

Like you, I know what I want to buy beforehand so that I could quickly have my shopping done. But it's not because I don't like shopping. I actually love buying stuff. And that's why I want to be in and out fast since if I take my tame, I'm more likely to buy other things that I hadn't planned on buying :)

I see. You are avoiding a good sales pitch or another flashy item. I can see where that would save money. If one is not in the store, there is no time to be tempted.

When I go shopping, I know what I want and go straight in and get it. I don't like to spend any longer than I need to in the store, because I usually have a busy schedule. Besides, shopping is not something that I derive pleasure from.

I love to go for shopping, but i am not a shopaholic.I only shop when i have enough money.Sometimes i have to shop for occasions, like birthday, party and family ceremonies, then i might take some time for selection of clothes,to make the event grand.I don't want to compromise with my clothes on special occasions. My mother in law is a shopaholic, she doesn't leave the shop until its time for the shop to close. Its really annoying for me to spend so much time for shopping.I am quick and good at selecting.Boys usually hate to shop.Men don't have interesting designs and patterns in their wear unlike women. All they have is a shirt and a pant.Nothing more than that.I feel this is the main reason for their lack of interest.

Interesting. Maybe if the fashion industry worked a bit more on men, maybe the economy would get going again. Still, I don't know. I am likely to be satisfied with the plain old classic look anyway. Anything just to keep from shopping.

I love to go shopping because i love fashion . Im the type of person that would know what im buying before I go . Also i dont really shop till im broke , because just in case something happens I have a little money to react to the situation.
