Why my Sony DSC-T300 is vibrating often?

I purchased my Sony DSC-T300 three years back. It was very good all these years. But now I face this problem: it vibrates when I power it on and it doesn't allow me to shoot anything. If I take a snap with it, the image it captures is totally foggy due to the vibration. It can be rectified at the service centre. But I want to know why it vibrates?
