I'm listening to acoustic songs on YouTube, of course, because I am bored - and I wanted to see what songs you guys thought were better when played acoustic (rather than the original studio version). Here's what I got:
*Foo Fighters - Everlong
*Foster the People - Pumped Up Kicks
*Eric Clapton - Layla
*Eric Clapton - Before you Accuse Me
Here's a video/song for Eric Clapton's acoustic version of "Layla". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_L-0Ryhmic (not a referral link). I thought I would share it with you because I think it's a BEAUTIFUL version of the original, although even better in my opinion!
What are some songs that you think are BETTER in acoustic?

I love acoustic music. I've played acoustic guitar for almost 15 years so acoustic versions and covers have a soft spot in my heart. Here are some suggestions that you might like, based on what you already mentioned liking. I can't copy and paste the links unfortunately but just search Youtube for them:
Covers
"In Your Eyes" - Jeffrey Gaines covering Peter Gabriel
"Hey Ya" - Obadiah Parker covering Outkast
"Simple Man" - Shinedown covering Lynyrd Skynyrd
"Wonderwall" - Ryan Adams covering Oasis
"Across the Universe" - Rufus Wainwright covering the Beatles
Acoustic Version Performed By Original Artist
"Here With Me" - Dido, acoustic version
"Sam's Town" - The Killers (Live at Roal Albert Hall)
"Pardon Me" - Incubus, acoustic version
"Staring at the Sun" - U2 (WBCN Naked Disc)
"Good Life" - Weezer, acoustic version
"Morning Glory" - (WBCN Naked Disc)
Enjoy and I'd love to hear more suggestions from your end. I hadn't heard Pumped Up Kicks, acoustic. Thanks!

I always love acoustic music, there are songs which can be heard better in acoustic version there are also worst. My favourite rehashed song which is far better than the original is When you say nothing at all. The Boyzone version is a lot better than the original one sung by Allison Krauss.

The "Unplugged" concerts ran by MTV were very good..that Acoustic version of "Layla" was featured on Clapton's one...good song, before and after..
It's Funny You started this discussion,as I'm watching reruns of "Scrubs",and keep looking out for what I understand to be the season 2 opening episode, called "My Overkill"...(found it on youtube yesterday and it's stuck in my head!) Turk and JD are walking to the hospital, and this Busker guy with an acoustic guitar starts following them, picking on his guitar, and Launches into an acoustic rendition of "Overkill" by Australian 80's hit band "Men at Work" -the busker is their Singer,Colin Hayes! Again,a good version of that song..

i'd say my most favorite acoustic version of a song is....
Stoner Sour - Through the glass
its just beautiful, more beautiful then the electric guitar version(original) i just love it more then any song in the world i think its that great and yes this is coming from a Juggalo(apparently we're considered wicked psychopathic clowns who only hate and kill but i say thats all bull we're about love family and respect at least i am anyways but coming from someone that comes from a group like this takes alot cause apparently we only listen to there music) i just love this song :D

That is so true. Most songs sung by the Boyce Avenue are actually better than the original. I love their acoustic version more than the original songs. Breakeven is one of the song I liked when sung by others as well as some songs of Usher.

I Love acoustic versions of songs traditionally played with distortion.
However, I also like the other direction... traditionally accoustic music played with all sorts of fun electric effects. ;~)
