Do you think people dislike black dogs?

personally I find them very beautiful. we have a black lurcher. so the poor thing had two strikes against him in popularity at the rescue centre. but we love him.

They are only haters. I love black cats and dog. They are cool!

In fact I have no problem to have either black cats or dogs. The color is not a matter. Sometimes you will just like the pets because it is special. This is how I choose pets. If the black dogs are rare, it will be a good idea to choose it. A black dog seems to be cool and stronger. I love China

Hi java, Black or no black there is no question as it is for me. I like dogs that are friendly and I have no color discrimination. Why some people dislike blakie I do not know. May be they are black and not easily visible or may be black dogs are less friendly. Some reasons are must be there, valid or invalid. But I am open to all breeds.

There's probably some truth to that. Some people still have this slight superstitious belief that black brings bad luck. They might have likened it to a black cat. Others find the color black as glum and gloomy. I have some friends who actually told me that. They prefer lighter-colored dogs since as they put it, it brings more life to their household. I personally don't mind what color my dog is although I prefer those with shades of brown.

I heard it also for a couple of days and what coud i say I have adopt a black dog for 12 years so on me it doesn't works -)

I have got two poodles. One is white with black patches and the other is plain black. I adore both my dogs. I know poodles come in white, apricot, gray, brown and black. I like black dogs and see nothing wrong with them. I know that in a shelter there are many dogs that are needing a new home. Understandably some look cuter than others. I wanted poodles so got my dogs from breeders. I traveled a long distance to get them.

I love all dogs no matter of what type of dog small, big, white, black, brown no matter what all dogs are equal and all have needs and wants in life just like you and me. Growing up i had a ltitle black dog and she was my world and i loved her so much and she was just so tiny and oh so cute and i loved her and i miss her everyday and having pictures of her around your house i think is important. Now i have a little off white colored dog and hes very cute too and hyper as well. Hes really just like my little black dog i had and hes really just a great dog as well.

Hi Java: I think you are right. People usually chose the dogs they consider are the "cutest" as pets and it's not just because of the colour. People also look for dog races to select their pets. It must be unfair but that's how people act when finding their company friends. ALVARO

I think some of the people I know prefer white or light colored dogs. Probably some considered black dogs scary. But for me, I love black dog specially if they have shiny fur. Black Labrador is cute specially if they are just puppies.

I don't think so.I have a friend and his dog is just black,also i saw that he loves his dog really much,maybe some people do like that,but we should have such kind heart for the poor dogs.Have a nice day.
