I guess it's just totally the same because when you are in love, you are loving a person. You can be in love to a person even if he/she doesn't love you in return just as you can love her/him without him/her knowing that.

Personally i think there is not much difference between the two.Whether you love a person or be in love with a person, the emotion is the same.Words can be used interchangeably without changing its meaning. That the beauty of a language.

It's like you love your parents but you are inlove with your boyfriend.

Most commonly they are being considered as one either in different definition by those who are in-love. The manner of expressions of being in-love are more of the feelings you have and loving the person is the expressions you can deliver. The only difference perhaps is whichever will come first, is it the feeling of being in love first? or being able to know that you are loving already this person that seems to others who are not aware yet that they are already loving a person and being in-love already.

Maybe being in love defines how you feel and loving a person speaks of whom you are giving that feeling.
