I am a Filipina but I do love Korean movies and soaps. I like how their plots usually vary from one story to the next. They also portray what's unique in their country and their movies usually shouts their culture. I just finished watching City Hunter, 49 days and Sungkyunkwan scandal. They are actually very entertaining and tearjerkers. I recommend them for your to watch if you can.
But if you are like me, do share some movies or soaps so I can also watch them. :)

Hello lovely! I've watched full house and I liked it!!. Have you seen any of my suggestions from above?? Please check them out! They are good series! I'm watching Ms. Ripley currently and it's also nice. When it comes to movies, The Classic, My Sassy Girl, Windstruck and Two-Hundred Pound Beauty are very good choices for you.

I do watch Korean Dramas but I lean more on the comedy-romance genre. I've seen "City Hunter" though. I'm more into JDramas. Yes they do lack the "romance" part (in a JDrama, you can only see the stars kiss twice or thrice the most) but what I like in JDramas are the pacing and concept/depth of the stories. They can range from something too easy to watch to those really heart-wrenching ones.
For KDramas, I'm not sure if you've seen these but here are some of my suggestions:
Coffee Prince (I LOVE THIS!!!)
Biscuit Teacher and Star Candy / Hello My Teacher
Il Jimae
My Fair Lady
And yes, most of my fave KDrama series have Gong Yoo in it
