Winlogon.exe error

I have a computer that had windows 2000 upgraded to windows xp had a virus i tried to do restore and it would not give me that option to restore. When it goes past the dell screen and past the windows xp screen it pops up an error It says: Winlogon.exe Application error The exception unknown software exception (0xc06d007e) occured in the application at location 0x7c812afb. PLease help me. I have installed a anti virus and got nothing, i used a registry cleaner and nothing. Any suggestions?
