Exercising at Home

I do exercise at home, since it is very expensive to either drop in to a community center or a paid membership at a gym. Today I found a jumping rope that my boyfriend said he would use when he worked out a lot as a warm up. So I went outside (before it started to rain lol)and while the dog was in the yard doing his thing, I jumped rope! It actually felt pretty good to get a bit of activity in that was simple and easy. We have free weights as well that I don't use as often as I should, but I do like them. I also have a thera-band tied to my bathroom door and use it to strength my biceps and triceps. What about you? Do you work out at home?

I do exercise at home as well. It is rather cheap and easy to fit into their schedule. One of the sticking points about working out in the gym is not finding a time to fit going down to it into our busy schedules. Or being unfortunate not to have a gym that is within reasonable distance from our home. And by reasonable distance, I mean can easily walk to it rather easily. I'm in my huge walking phase where I do most of my walking to places where I can. So indeed, exercising at home is easily. You can do it while listening to the news, the radio, or whatever, if you have a nice wide open room. Or you can go in the backyard or go walking outside. There are just so many ways to rather go exercising at home, where it is nice and easy to do so. I really do enjoy exercising at home or even going for a walk outside. It is cheap and a rather liberating experience in many ways.

You are soo right! Being able to do an exercise regime at home with all the ideas for incorporating household items for weights, as well as working out in the yard, and going for walks - I love all of this! I am an avid gardener and am able to incorporate that in the Spring through to Fall. I live in an area where there is a green belt so talking my dog for his walk and getting him to go for a run is wonderful and free too! I have my yoga mat and do all of my workouts on that, including jumping jacks, sit ups, push ups, side lifts; the list is endless!

I love working out a home. You do not need a gym membership to be fit. There are som many home workout routines for us nowadays. You just need to be a little creative with your current fitness equipment. A pair of dumbbells, a resistance band, a pull-up bar, chairs and benches would do.

Good for you! I agree there are all sorts of items one can use to incorporate as weights!! I have resistance bands and I love that I can pretty much use them for all sorts of strength training ideas!

If you having troubles, you can always break it up into 10 mins x3 a day to make it 30 mins :). That way you aren't forcing yourself to do something if you aren't ready for it to be the full 30 mins. :). You can also make it simple by starting off with something easy, and don't rush to do a whole lot of things all at once, many people have and end up with pulled muscles, and super soreness all over.

no i dont, even if someone will pay for me to go to a gym haha.. But i do realize though that its important to sweat at least a lil in a day. So what do during my lunch break is walk in an open space, just nearby my office. Or clean my room during my off from work.

We're the same. I don't also have the money to buy workout equipments or go to expensive gym here. So, what I do is, do exercise indoor at home. I do some stationary jogging, and a few push-ups everyday.

I exercise at home at least 5 days a week. I work strange hours since I'm in retail, but I make the time. I'm about to turn 50 and have several health problems,so it's important to me.

Occasionally I do the basic workouts like push-ups, sit-ups, wall push-ups, lifting 12-pound dumbells just for toning the muscles. I jog around our neighborhood too once in a while since there are still lots of trees and just the whiff of fresh air is great. I could still do a lot of exercises without even going to the gym, and they don't cost me anything :)

Hiya SB, Me I get enough exercise at Home with the Dog I have as he is full of energy and keeps me on the move most of the Day. What with taking him for a Walk playing Ball with him most Hours of the Day I am too tired for any more exercise than that. I do have my own personal exercise routine that I carry out here and there as I said this Dog keeps me really busy and this is the first time today I have been able to sit on here to write anything at all.xxx

I do some morning walk for about 30 minutes. My house is located on top of a mountain literally and have to go down steeply for about 2 km and the go up again. Usually it would take me three stops for rest before i can complete the up and down routine, lol!

Exercising at home is so economical. I had some exercise equipments and some exercise literature but I feel that there is something that is lacking at our house. I'm planning to make a deal with myself to exercise harder at home. I also have a jumping rope plus a waste twisting device.

Well, I have a weight of 100lb heavy bag hanging outside of my house, that I can go to punch it whenever I want. :D I use it a lot for physical exercise and stress relief, by punching on it repeatedly. I find it very useful and I sweat a lot every time I finished punching exercise. One of a good workout indeed.

I don't work out at home since I don't have enough time to do so. Besides I already have a slim body that I really appreciate. But, I know that exercising is not just for maintaining or weigth but also for our good health too. So, keep it up. It's nice to work out at home than in any gym.
