Smiling is important

Being a Dental Assistant and an avid Dental student in high school, teeth have always been very important to me. That includes gums, teeth, breath, all of that. I feel that a person's hygiene reflects a lot of what type of person they are. I could never date a guy who's breath was always rancid because I'd never want to get close enough to him to hug or kiss him. Equally, I can't deal with someone with an ugly smile... excessive gaps, gold teeth, missing teeth, black gums, ratchet looking teeth in general. A man should always take just as much pride in his appearance as we women take in ours. The quickest turn off ever is for a guy to call me from behind and I turn around only for him to walk up talking with it smelling like someone just died or teeth that show which direction I need to be headed in next. Nothing is worse.

Wow I'm just like you, even though I am not a dentist!I'm obsessed with my teeth and I hope non of you guys call me vain/shallow but first thing I see in people is their smile.
I actually judge them by how white/straight their teeth are.I agree your smile is very important and I think every person should know that because I've also dated a lot of cute guys with bad teeth, obviously that didn't work out.
I agree with this post 100%,there should not be a reason as to why a person can't have a lovely smile, every one is capable of taking care of their breath, teeth.

Yes, I wholeheartedly agree! UNLESS you have a disease like halitosis or something where you cannot help your dental health, but even for things like that, there is treatment available!

I agree wholeheartedly. Smiling is contagious and can possibly brighten the days of those around you and your own. I try to smile as much as possible without looking like a total goofball lol.

i agree. we have to be really careful about what we do to maintain our teeth's health. i believe it is always important that we take care of it and make sure that it is clean, and opur breath is always fresh.
i always tell my brother who smokes about this, that he should brush as soon as after he smokes because his teeth is really yellowish already, it looked as though a lot of plaque has resided in his teeth.

Yea, smoking, tea, coffee and Mt. Dew are the number 1 causes for yellowing and darkening of the teeth but that can be fixed if not too far gone with a trip to the local Dental Hygienist. I just have a pet peeve with it and refuse to kiss any guy with a horrible mouth!

It is hard to believe sometimes that just smiling can have so much of a difference in our lives, but it really can make a difference and it is something that we should never underestimate. If we ever see somebody who is feeling a little bit down, we should try our best to be able to smile at them as they will smile back and then instantly feel better about everything that is going on in their life at the moment. I have a friend who is going through a very hard time at the moment and this means that I am trying to smile at her whenever I can to try and make her feel a little bit better.

Yes, a smile can heal a lot. And to make it even more convenient, smiles are free and cost no charge to the person smiling or the receiver. It is a great addition to spice life up... and every smile is unique and different and can make anyone feel a different way!

Definitely, smiling is very important to us.It is the best way to gain friends, and to make our day feel easier.Yes,personal hygiene is really necessary to every one, especially our mouth because we used it in communicating people.By the way we can also smile without displaying our teeth and gums.

I completely agree. Lots of people neglect this, though and do not take very good care of their hygiene.

There is nothing worse than what you mentioned above..This is one of the thing that we need to take a good care of and that could be the important factor when we met people for the first time. Same goes to toenails.. One of the way to see whether one took a good care of the hygiene is to see the toenails~(^^)

Would I say, personal hygiene is important or rather of utmost important? I thought it was smiling. I believe we can always smile no matter what we have inside but it is important that before we show off those set of teeth we first make sure we have the reasons to flaunt them lest we turn of people with our smiles instead of turning them on.

That's very true! I know that everyone isn't going to have the perfect Crest smile, true indeed. However, they could at least make sure they are clean and their breath is fresh! =)
