When you buy your wants and needs, do you usually choose those branded ones? Branded clothes, branded shoes, branded bags and many more! I guess there is nothing wrong with it as long as you can afford to buy those branded things. My classmate hates branded because aside from the fact that it is expensive, she can only buy few from her money. Some people go for branded stuffs just for the name. I want to hear your opinions about this discussion mylotters! Have a good day.

No. I would buy even non branded clothes provided I like their style. I do not care about branding if I find something attractive.

Yes, there are still those non branded clothes and other stuffs which have nice style and quality. I guess we just have to really choose what is really the best for us. Anything which suits us and also with a price we can afford.

True. Not all branded clothes are beautiful or stylish and going with what make you happy is the most important thing.

Hi cearn25, I usually don't care whether branded or not as long as it looks good and not out of fashion or I can afford then why not. My stuff are all mixed up with non-brand and branded ones but one thing that I have non-brands are shoes haha I like different style, brand and type of shoes. I am not a branded type of person, but my hubby is and sometimes it lead us into arguements for stuff to choose he like branded the most and I don't.

Maybe he doesn't want you to be angry. He just hide it or do not inform you in case he will buy.Tgere would be no wrong with that as long as he doesn't buy always. That would be beyond already.

It doesn't really matter my friend. As long as you are not having any problem with the product, then go for it. There are also type of people who are so stick with branded items like your husband. Just understand him. You two just have peaceful argument. I know it is not a big thing for the that to be argued unless if your husband always buys branded things.

Hi cearn, It depends upon the items. If they the goods are of less use and would do even if I buy from the vendors I usually do not go for the branded ones. But when it comes to things of personal use like pants , shirts, trousers, TV, Camera, sound system, mobile phone I prefer to go to the branded ones for there is satisfaction. May be you pay a little extra but no compromise with quality.

Exactly. Actually the choice is in our hands, the consumers and the buyers. I also go the vendors and look for things which can be use in our house. They are more cheaper though. For gadgets, I go for branded ones. They have the quality and it lasts. I thank you for parting your opinion about this matter my friend.

those branded clothes doesn't sell the style of clothes that i like. i rather let my wife sew and create the clothes that i need. for equipments and gadgets... you need to buy those things that are branded for being so durable so you can get your money's worth.

Maybe your wife is a great stylist! Isn't she? You must be proud of her. I also noticed that some brands doesn't have an appeal to the consumers that they would rather go to the cheaper ones because aside from its being cheap, it has the fashion also.

I don't really care about the brand actually.. I buy things based on the qualities and based on the "Whether i really need this or not" principles.. Doing this, I saved lots of extra money!

Every people has his/her own principles. That is your principle. I guess there is nothing wrong to that as long as you make sure you stick to that principle of yours. Somehow, in life, we even go to the other side. We will just wake up that we are not already being guided by that principle anymore.

With electrical goods I usually go for good brands, like Sony or those that have good reputation of quality, but with clothes and shoes, I have found that the expensive brands wear out just as fast as the unkown brands, so don't get sucked into buying such stuff. I don't think it is good to target kids with expensive brands, as it can lead to bullying and ridicule, yet in reality, I think that it is the people who are hooked by big brand names who are getting the raw deal in the clothing industry. _Derek

Thanks derek! You have a nice critical analysis about my topic. Anyway, those names who have been able to make a name in the market because of their good service, good quality products and good reputation are the ones who lasts. I also noticed that some of the branded things I wear easily turn out.

I tend to buy branded clothes yes. Certain brands I really really like, like Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Express, American Eagle, just to name a few. I like a lot of their styles and the quality of their clothes, they seem to last longer than clothes from Target or Wal-Mart for example. But I RARELY buy ANYTHING new. I am ALWAYS shopping at thrift stores and second-hand consignment stores looking for good deals. Most of my shirts I've probably bought for $5 or less. I generally buy whatever is cute, fits, and is a good price, though. But I have to admit there are a couple of brands that I do like.

Thank you for naming them. At least for you even if you like branded clothes, you still look other methods to save some money out from what you buy. It is already depends on the person's strategy on how she can divide her money and time.

I go with whatever the best value for my money is. Which is something that kind of changes from time to time. There have been many brands that have had their fair share of hits and misses, with really how well it tends to really connect with me to say the very least. Then again, if I don't think that the price is worth it, it will not be bought. It is just a simple as that. Granted, there have been some brands that have been rather constant. So I do tend to buy them more regular. But I will not purchase a substandard product at an outrageous price. That is really just going to be how it is going to work. Brands are not going to really be constant all of the time. And if I can get something that is generic for a lower price but the same value, than that's good enough for me. Its all about the value of my money.

One most important thing we must consider aside whether we go for branded or not, is money. The value of money nowadays is not constant. It keeps on changing. While the prices of products goes high, money is not.

Well, as much as possible, I will go for the branded ones. But of course, I will make sure that the brand I am buying is of good quality standards. I won't buy those overpricing brands which you only pay for their name with not that excellent quality at all. I go for quality instead of quantity. Buying a quality branded material is like a good investment. It should run for a long time without stressing you out and giving out problems. But of course, the branded materials that I can buy depends on my budget. If I am low on budget, I have to settle with the middle gauge to low end brands. But if I had all the money, I will surely go for the high quality branded ones. Performance and quality is my top priority in buying.

Hello AgentGulaman! You have shared me good insights. Thanks a lot. For branded ones, we must set high standards for it because the price itself is expensive. For non branded, we need not to worry about the price however, we must look into the quality and practicality.

Personally I have no interest in brand names and that applies to both luxuries and necessary food. Most of our groceries are the cheap, supermarket own brand kind and often there is little difference in the taste/quality of these products. When it comes to clothes, I buy the cheapest of the cheap and find that they last just as long as others' who buy branded items.

actually there are brands that are for show, especially for bags, and for some purses. but then i would say that there are product brands that are very durable and should be bought for long term uses like rubber shoes, and some appliances. it really depends. I would say for dresses, and shirts, there are good brands and there are the cheap ones with really good designs too, i believe we ought to give these a chance because they are good to use too!

It would be nice if we give a try for these two things, branded and not branded. Because of that, we can identify which has the quality and quantity. Anyway, it depends to a person. Thanks for sharing chiyosan! Have a great day.

It really depends. If bags - yes because branded bags are more sturdy. For clothes and shoes - not really. As long as I am comfortable wearing it. For food - yes & no, it really depends on the ingredients & nutritional benefits.

When I buy things for my personal needs especially apparels and shoes, I usually go for name brands if I have money. We can be sure of it's quality. It's usually expensive but I guess we can be sure it's worth the price. Yes, we can buy cheaper ones in place of the branded goods but I have experienced that the cheaper items don't last longer, because the materials used or the way it had been made don't past the quality control most of the time.

I also have an experience with those cheap items when it didn't last. I actually feels sorry to myself and to the money I spent for it. I already leabed my lesson. But this do not necessarily mean that I will not buy those cheaps ones. I just have to be strict when buying. Thabks for sharing my friend.

I'll go for brand especially when I'm buying shoes. For me, my shoes have to be quality, lasting and also comfortable when I put on it. I have quite bad experience getting some awful shoes, due to I picked the cheap one instead of branded and quality. Of course, we don't buy branded stuffs just because of the name, we have to be rational and go with what we afford of. Have a nice day!

no.. i'm not really into brands.. for me they are all just the same.. i was only referring this to clothing.. as a practical person, i will never extract too much money in expensive clothes of which i can buy in a lower price in a different store.. for me, they are all just the same and it just depends on how you value this things .. and on how you washed them to maintain their quality.. :)

It is a very good of you that you don't go directly in buying. We have to double check them first before we can consider them in buying. I wouldn't buy also things which I think not worth for my money.
