I'm doing polystyrene carving during my free time. Polystyrene carving is interesting actually as we can carve whatever we like either in 3D form or 2D form. Polystyrene carving also can be displayed as wall decoration or known as wall relief. It is suitable for interior display.

Actually I had a carving years ago, it was of a palm tree and it was like 3D, the palm tree stood out, I bought it necause it was painted in a lilac colour and that is something I can't resist, I saw some very beautiful pieces...

Hi lilaclady, thanks for your reply. Polystyrene carving is suitable used in mall decoration, seasonal decoration, stage decoration and carnival parade such as the annual event - RIO DE JANEIRO CARNIVAL at Brazil. Those gigantic carvings really impressive and make the event very grand and happening. I have a friend who is doing polystyrene carving and he is very talented and creative. He sliced the polystyrene into thinner pieces and made it into KOI fish. It is impressive since the KOI fish is in 3D form with hollow section. So as long as we know the characteristic of the material, then we can make a lot of creative stuffs.
