A pleasant day fellow mylotters,
I was really thinking this morning, which is more important - to work and let others that you are working for it? Or to work for it silently without letting others know that you working for it?
More often than not, these two questions are somehow bothering me. As there are times, I am really thinking, I will just work, work and work and let others recognize my effort thru the results of the work that I have done. On the other hand, there are times, they are thinking, I am not doing anything because I am not telling it to others that I am working for it. That, since the outcome is not yet materialize and cannot be seen outright, so, they are not aware that I am doing and working for something. Hence, other people tend to comment that I am just sitting and waiting for the rain to fall, something like that. And, it somehow reflects that I am just letting the day without doing anything. I dont want to be too proud that I have done this and done that since I am not that type but, it seems like situation pushes me to announce those things which I am working on.

Been to that situation also... I am a person who wants to work behind the limelight.. I want to work silently and don't want to announce to everybody that I am working. I don't care what are running in their minds, but I know myself better than them. I don't really mind what they're thinking as my conscience and clear. In my mind, it will be their problem, I don't have to worry. They're going to have heartaches, I will have the joy in my heart... Just don't mind them my friend, just continue to excel in your field... Your hardwork will be rewarded... Actually, what I normally do while working is to put on my headset and listen to the music that I love! Don't stress yourself! Enjoy working!

Do your work silently. Leave them thinking what they want but put on a note everything you do, when and how much time it costs. So, if they seriously ask what you are doing (like your boss asking because the rumors of the weak minds of your job) you can state your doings diligently showing him this note. This will surprise him and shut up the gossips forever through respect.

Hello Aira, Just work and live your life about it, you don't work literally for them but for yourself. so, what ever they tell you about not doing good enough, they should look at themselves before they judge others in terms of performance.

Oh. We are in the same situation. For me, it depends on the situation. If I work on one of the most prestige, legitimate company that pays a high salary, I will announce it to all my family members, so that they would not think that I am so lazy. They would not think that I did nothing and let them think that I am sleeping all day and all night because they do not know what I am doing. However, if I work online and the pay is low, I will just keep silent. If I have a good result by working too hard in online or offline work, I will tell them honestly and sincerely. I think that it is not bragging. You just want them to know and share that you have a work so that they would not think anything bad about you, but as I said, it depends on the situation.

It happened to me and for a while I let the rumor spread. Later with a funny face, I declare that what they think is in fact a big fat lie. If I right away tell that I'm great I would appear desperate for attention but really it wont hurt to spread a rumor if you hold the truth that the rumor has no bearing on the truth.

I have been in a similar situation before. I am not the type of person who whould very verbal about what I am doing and what i am trying to achieve and at times I have others say that I don't do anything since I don't mention it to them. however, it doesn't bother me what others think because whatever I do, I do it for myself and not for others so they don't need to know about it and it doesn't concern them so why announce it to them. I think you should also continue to do your work and don't think about what others say...

Work for it silently without letting others know that you are working for it.
Because you don't work to showoff, you work to reach your goals, to realise your dreams, to get better and accomplish the results you always wanted.
It doesn't matter what people think, Spending time to change their opinion through words is not worth it, because it's time subtracted to work.
Words may work for a while, but they would surely fade away really soon and at the end it wouldn't be worth it.
Instead, if you work silently while people think/talk about you, once you'll reach that success/progress (and before or later you surely will) it will be something which will surprise them and unlike words it will be something which won't fade away easily or at all.
