I like to eat, but also interested in cooking. Acyually, no one has taught me to cook. So it's lucky for you to get a free teacher. I learned it from internet and I'm quietly a good cooker. You know Chinese food is very delicious and plenteous. At weekends, I'm going to invite some friends and cook for them. That's a pleasant thing. But I really don't want to clean up the mess...

I think of that too, the key to a womans heart is through his stomach. How am i gonna satisfy my girl if i dont know how to cook. Its a plus points to girls also. But nah, for now i just want to eat my mothers dishes, for im her taste tester. I just prefer to be that than a cook. haha.

I believe most people here do love eat, rather than cook. But anyway, you should understand what your mom means. She wanna you to be self-dependent even without her.We would all grow up and that's really every people should learn.

aww... then she isn't exactly a chef, your mother is rather a Culinarian . because a chef title means "chief" and in order to be a real "chef" one must work in a real setting like a small restaurant or a high end hotel/restaurant for someone to be called as a chef and there are different types of chef like... Chef de cuisine or Executive chef: does all the paper work like menu creation, inventory, hiring, firing, and plating ideas... boring...except for plating ideas. Sous Chef: Second in Command (right hand of the executive handles the actual production of the kitchen) trains new kitchen staff and helps in the different stations. Station Chef or Chef de Partie: Are chefs that are in charge with specific station or production area of the kitchen, includes... saute chef, fish chef,Roast chef, grill chef, fry chef, vegetable chef, pantry chef, pastry chef.

I agree to that, mother is really a good teacher and also my first teacher. Its good to be taught but sometimes when im just not in the mood i really dont wanna do it. SO i get irritable and i cant finish what im suppose to cook. Im thankful to my mother for she taught me my favorite desert. Now i can make it on my own. :F

I love to cook and also I love to eat. Your very lucky that your mom teach you how to cook if you want to be a good chef start within your home. As I was seeing in your age your almost adult now you shall learn to cook it for your self, they say men are more good chef than women so why not try to be good in cooking.

I don't mind multi steps so long as I have the time to do it, money for ingredients, my family will eat it, and someone else to do the dishes! I hate doing the dishes!

I like to cook and I like to eat...and I learnt most of my cooking from my mum and grandma...don't worry about the scolding it will teach you something in the end...happy cooking!

First ,let me say that I am a very good cook.I can follow recipes, and I can make up my own.But if I could afford it I would have a chef.I would love to live in round house with lots of windows, open spaces, without a kitchen! Am I a dreamer ,or what!!! I also have my mother's old recipe book, and tried some of her pastries, some of them a bit complicated.Came out very good, and I would only make them again, when I am nostalgic, and I miss her more than usual. It is good to know how to do it,but when you will be on your own,you do not have to do it if you do not want it!!!

I enjoy cooking but I don't do it on a regular basis. I may actually cook once or twice a week and then freeze the extras to have for another meal. Like when I cook lasagna I cook two. When I bake ziti I cook two batches. It helps out during the week. I think you should learn to cook. Your mom may not always be in good enough health to cook. Like when she gets really old, you may need to take care of her. Wouldn't you want to feed her good food that she is accustomed to eating? It really is worth your while to learn.

i like both.....but cooking is something new to learn now. as a new wife now, i think i need to be able also in cooking. so i practice it with my mom. not everyday.... i'm in charge to do that when my mother is busy or must go early in the morning. well, a little bit hard but it gives me satisfaction if i can cook delicious meal for my family.

I want to cook and I want to eat too! I think cooking can be lots of fun when you have loved food first.. So, I a bit don't understand with your thought that cooking is somehow boring.. :D I mean, come on, for someone who loves food, cooking must be really interesting! I myself really like to eat and to cook, but i don't have much chance to cook since I live in a boarding house without proper kitchen. I tried my best to cook each time I have a chance to cook, and It tastes really good, and you're somehow happy with your own food and you yourself for cooking it :D But to cook complicated dish another thing.. yeah, it somehow sounds really complicated, and people who like eating more than cooking like u will find it troublesome to cook complicated dish. But to cook complicated dishes will be very beneficial for your future especially when u're considering to be a chef.. And food is something magical.. when u cook delicious food to people u love, and to see their happy face when eating your dishes and when they give compliments about how delicious your dishes are, believe me, those feelings are things money can't buy. SO don't be lazy, you won't regret learning how to cook complicated dishes in the future! :)

I love cooking. I cook on an average of three nights a week. I am sad when I cannot cook. Due to my husband's foot injury he is unable to work and I stay at home to care for him, so we live with my parents. It is hard living with my parents, but I know it is only temporary.

I also cook but I do not think learning to cook or anything should be forced on anybody otherwise it would be useless. I can understand your mom, we all like our talents to be passed on to our children, I would take time if I were you to take her seriously ( you are very luck you have somebody like her) and study what she teaches cause it's for your own good and your own future, but if you feel that it's not your thing, or you are too lazy etc... then you should also be brave enough to tell her, perhaps there are other things that suite you better.

I do not know how to cook, and sometimes I think it's because my mom is not a good cook so she never really taught me how. You're lucky, once you go over your lazy stage, you'll probably be a great chef just like your mom.
