How can teens/kids earn without breaking the law?

Here in my country, one can often see in news, kids being put under a government sector custody due to working and the owner(s) of the business/workplace that pays them to work are always imprisoned. (Yeah, I admit they are mostly illegal but I meant the legal ones...)
From where I live, we don't have lawns to maintain or whatever it is that is about a garden or whatnot (small common work) that adults in other countries have to make the kids in their neighborhood work on and pays them to do.
I would like to know, what else can a teenager do to earn the money he/she needs...even just to buy his sick mom some medicine [if in every step of his way there is a law that would stop him from earning serious money]?

What are you good at?
Can you fix up computers? find someone which has problems with their computer and get paid, even just a little, to fix them up.
babysitting? clean their stairs/houses/cars, whatever.
May I say that I find it REALLY weird that in your country kids get put in custody for such dumb reasons?

It's not weird at all - it's child labour laws. Every country has them (or should). I think you're confusing a teenager working at a Saturday job (with the consent of their parents) with a 12-year-old doing 8 hour days in a sweatshop.

I think teenage can work part time in a government office like sorting a papers or doing a survey, or data entry which can be an overload work to the official employees and can help the office in the Government. Of course they can do a job inside your house but you will be the one to pay for his/her work. An online earning can help too but i guess it will takes so much time for them to earn it.

As long as the teenager has their parents' written consent and the employer is legitimate (and the teenager is of legal age to work), there shouldn't be a problem. Alternatively, as Dark said, you could look for "odd jobs" like doing someone's shopping, cleaning stairs, running deliveries, that kind of thing. Many online jobs allow teenagers to register if their parents grant permission or if the parents do the registration and allow you to do the work.
It all comes down to parental consent and keeping within your country's work laws, which are designed to allow minors to go to school and not be forced into work at too early an age.

I know that you usually have to be 16 in the US to work at most places. I know some 15 year olds can work here in Minnesota, but like you said, there are very strict laws regarding what hours they can work, and I think they can only work less than 15 hours a week. The only thing I can think of, is well they can come on MyLot as long as they are over 13 (right?), they could babysit or do lawn work for money too. That's the only real thing I can think of at such a young age.

Hi! Crimes nowadays are committed by underage people maybe its because they are protected by the juvenile law. However, they can still earn without doing this bad things. They can try baking some cookies and sell it at school or some dry goods like making handmade bracelets, necklace. It can be taught at youtube or some organization. They can also sell their old stuff on the net. There are a lot of ways to earn.:)

baby sitting, yard work newspaper routes, offering to clean houses or apartments. at 15 you can look for part time jobs even offering to take a garbage can out to the street and back when its empty for a few dollers amonth.
