We all have friends in here. Many of us who have been around a long time and have been quite active in here often have more than others, and many of them might have even gone by the wayside. But what I was wondering is how many really take the time to respond back to their friends discussions? Can you really say there are people you know you have always responded back too, or go play catch up just to make sure you're keeping up?
I know from time to time, I will open up the area that shows all my friends and click on a couple of them and make sure I have responded back to their first 10 discussions that are on the Discussions started page. I do find sometimes some interesting discussions that I might have missed, and usually helps keep me up to date sometimes of what might be going on in their life right now as well.
So when is the last time you kept up with a friend, or are their ones you always know you're caught up with and enjoy responding back too any New discussion that they start?

Yes I try to, I have my notify set for all my friends and when one of them post something I get an e-mail. I open that email and if it is something that I know something about I will respond. Most times I don't respond to discussions about personal problems but one time to offer prayer or other help. I will still read the discussion but seldom respond.
Discussions here are second to my business that takes up most of my online time.

I know that many times I have opened up someones discussion, and might rate it, but if I feel I cannot give it a good response back, then I will usually not respond. I know many times it can take a lot of time, and like you I work full time and have an online/offline business that takes up a lot of my time as well.

Yes, there are many times I have done it this way as well. But most of the time for me, my time is limited so I have done it other ways. Since today is actually one of my days off from work, I am spending a lot of my time trying to respond back to some discussions I have started in here as well.

I re-read my post and saw that some might misunderstand it. I do not want to leave the impression that I answer the discussions from my e-mail, I open the Mylot discussion and read the discussion and the responses then make my response. Of course this is only done after reading the discussion in my e-mail, this is where I decide if I will respond to the discussion.

That is always a Good one. I have done that before... Gone to my friends list, and see if people are still active there, and respond back in a discussion that I might have missed out on.

As long as I can stay active, I do. I have some of my friends notifications turned on, so even when I can't be active, like when I am suppose to be reading my history lesson, I know my friends have started a post I can reply to. Of course I don't reply to all, that would be too much, but I do open and read all the ones in my inbox and if I don't feel a need to reply, I delete it, or if I don't have time, I will save it for when I do have the time. Which I really didn't have the time now, but I so needed a break..

Yes, I can relate with supposed to be doing other things and come in here for a little bit, or see a notification of a discussion a friend started and decide to take time to respond to it. Many times it could be a much needed break even if you do not realize it, but always glad you can Stop by when you can.

I respond through my email most of the time and only respond when i have something to say to their discussion. thats why sometimes when mylot is having these glitches, i miss some discussions i really needed to see. there are friends that i constantly keep up with their life and whats going on. so when i dont get them in my email, i go see what my friends started. but even that way i miss some. so i really like it when im getting my email notifacations.

Yes, being able to get the notifications in here via your Email is a good thing, and does help you keep up. But like you said the times this site is having glitches like it tends to do from time to time makes it hard to keep up as well. But being here is a Good thing and we do what we can when we can.

I post and start New discussions when I can. Started one just a few minutes ago as an update, and started another one earler this week, and have another one I need to post. But since it is so hard to keep up with all of them until I can finally give a Best Response, etc. it is a lot of work. But I do what I can when I have time.

There is one person on here that i try to keep up with on a daily basis if she is on here. I like her discussions and her family problems and i try to stay up to date with her. I have checked her profile once today but she hasnt been to active yet today so ill wait till later tonight to check it again and see if she has done anything and if not ill do the same again tommorrow and hope for a better day for her.
Now i do check on the friends started tab and see if there are any discussions i might have missed somewhere else here on mylot that i can respond to. I try to do as many responses as possible in one day.

I always keep an eye on the discussions posted by members on my friends' list, but it is not practical to respond to all of them.
Many people create discussions on topics that I cannot relate to, so attempting to respond would be futile because I would have nothing of any value to contribute. For example, if a friend posted s discussion about a character or situation in a soap opera then I would have no knowledge of the subject whatsoever and consider myself to be unqualified to offer a worthwhile response.

I hear you on that one, as there are people here on my friends list that have started discussions a time or two I cannot relate with so I cannot respond back. But looking over their discussions and catching up with some as you have is Fun to do as well.

I'm not as active as I was when mylot started and it's hard to keep up with my friends' discussions...even the ones that I used to always interact with :-(
But I've saved all the notifications and try to get at it whenever I can...like I am doing right now.

Yes, I can relate with this one as this is how I am. I keep active in here when I can which at times is more than others. But I try to interact with my active friends in here when I can.

I guess that is why I am responding now to your discussion from 7 months ago. I have saved all the new discussion notifications that I got from myLot as well as the digests and I look at them and if they look interesting I do respond. I have over 1200 emails over the last 7 months and I have tried to go through a couple of days worth each day and more if I have time. I especially like going through discussions of friends that I have followed even though I didn't keep up on them constantly. I think I might start keeping up on a few more than what I have lately. Have a great week!!!

I've not been active here for awhile, but am trying to get back into it. I made cashout for last month and that was what I Was wanting. I am going to try to make more then that this month because I've not been getting many hours at work but I am also going to be getting a second job soon I hope. I've not been able to catch up completely with everyone but I try to. I think if I wre to catch up completely it'd take me a lot of time out of each day and maybe three or four months just to get caught up.
I usually go to the "friend started" page and surf the first few pages for discussions that interest me.

That is a Great way to do it. I have been going thru my friends list just recently myself as I have time and if they are active responding back to at least one discussion that they have started just to make sure everyone knows even at the times I am busier than others, I am still active here myself.

I always try and respond to all of my friend's discussions. That's why sometimes I respond really late, it just means I am trying to catch up with all of my notifications. And I don't want to miss any of my friends' discussions, so I try put something in even if it's way too late (just like this one which is 2 weeks old).
Most of my myLot friends raise interesting discussions so I don't want to miss any of it.

Well, I have notifications of friends discussions that they started over a yr. ago, so being only a couple of months or weeks behind is nothing. But since I have so little time to be here at times, and a lot of awesome friends on here, I do what I can as time allows.

Like everybody here I also try to follow my friend's discussions. It's a smart idea to visit their profiles and check there. I usually use the "friends started" tab. The problem is that I can't be with myLot every day. When I have a lot of work this is not possible and I do miss a lot of good discussions.
Take care.

Oh how I hear you there. I miss a lot of good discussions that are started here each day as I can never be here as often as I would like. Since I work Full time, and also have other things going on sometimes just visiting a Friends profile from time to time is a Good thing for sure.

Hello Tina! Now i'm in a dilemma because there are more than 900 mails in my inbox from mylot alone. I was gone for such a long time and i used to keep up with my friend's discussions. I tried to respond to them as much as i can and at that time i was pretty well aware of what's going on in their lives as much as they are into mine.
It was fun that way till i got tired and had to leave mylot. But now i'm here again and i'm wondering how could i ever keep up now after such long months of absence?

Well, I am behind as well, especially due to how many friends I have that are active in here all the time. What I have done is set up a myLot folder in my Email and move all New discussions to there. Then as I have time and feel like it, I go in there and respond back to others. Many times I will find I have already responded back to some or not interested and those are ones I just take time and delete. It just depends on the amount of time I have.

I try to keep up Tina. Sometimes I do go to my friends list of people I haven't heard from in a while to check out any new discussions. Some are just not that active anymore. I have left a PM to a few of my friends that I miss hearing from.

I have done that from time to time too on some of them that are not that active here anymore. I started going thru my friends list recently and responding back to at least one discussion that they have started if they are still active here just to let them all know I am still around. I know myself I sometimes get so busy with other things I cannot always post here like I want.

I have all of my friend discussions on, and I read and respond to every single one that I have a response for. I mean I'm not going to respond if someone asks, do you have a boil? Or if the discussion is more along the lines of telling us something than wanting a response.

I am so far behind even though I have all the notifications on. I need to actually spend more time when I can responding back to the discussions that come in my Email and will do so from time to time. But I do find a lot of discussions that I tend to pass over for sure.

I only check if I haven't had any email notifications of new posts in a few days. I read the discussions but only answer if I have something to add.

Hi Tina! I try to keep up with all my friends' discussions. There are times when I can't be here to respond right away..but I always try to get them within a couple of days.
There are discussions that I sometimes can't input on, but for the most part I try to respond to every one. I do have friends that I always love to read what they write.
Take care!

Well, I try and make it a priority to keep up with some of my friends, or people who are responding back in my discussions. I know that when I am trying to find time to keep up with them it helps develop an even stronger relationship and so then they will want to always follow my updates and dreams as well.

I just started on mylot a few days so I don't have many friends here. I have 2 people on my list so far and I try to respond to their discussions whenever I come on mylot. I respond to discussions that I find interesting and that I feel that I can contribute to whether these are discussions started by poeple on my firends list or other people it doesn't really matter. But, I do check the discussions started by my friends to see what they are about and if I want to contribute to them...

Well, since I have a lot of friends, I do tend to have most of their notifications turned on so I can get alerted to when they start New discussions here as well. I never seem to be able to keep up with all of them, and always finding myself responding back sometimes to discussions started a long time ago as well. But it is interesting and worth keeping up when I can.
