My kid said what?!

Child innocence is something that always fascinates me. It always, always makes me laugh. During a trip to Bohol, a small but popular province in the Philippines, whose main tourist attraction is The Chocolate Hills (you can look it up on Google-- it is really marvelous), I took with me the entire family, adults and kids alike. Since it was the first time for all my nephews and nieces, I know right off the bat it's gonna be fun. The thrill and excitement they have shown before boarding their very first airplane ride is already well worth the cost of the entire trip. When we arrived there, I also realized that it would be the children's first time to stay in a hotel. They went all over the place, up and down the stairs and elevator, here and there, to and from. They were having fun. Having taken the stairs, I came across my 4-year old niece. Full of conviction and proud of herself, she exclaimed, "Uncle Bong, we rode a calculator!" She meant elevator. During our spare time we were having fun and we're reviewing singular-plural nouns. The same girl is being asked by my brother, her father, about the plural forms of the singular nouns he mentions. Daddy: Remember what we said about making singular nouns plural? Arwen: Yes, daddy! We add the letter 's' at the end. Daddy: Good! What is the plural of pencil? Arwen: Pencils Daddy: How about table? Arwen: Tables Daddy: How about chocolate? Arwen: (Exclaims with excitement) Chocolate hills! Weeks after that, they walk upon a funeral parlor, and the establishment has a number of coffins on display. My niece whispered to her dad and said, "Daddy, there are so many dead people..." Never a dull moment with these kids! I love them to bits! Do you have funny moments with your kids? Was there something they said that you've never heard before and just can't stop laughing about?

Kids are really fun to be with. Their innocence give us pure happiness as well. I remember my nephew who is 5 years. I took him with me at the mall for a shop. before that, we withdraw some cash from ATM machine. As the money comes out from the machine- he shouts and said "hey mama (he calls me mama) ask more money (pointing to the machine) so I can buy everything that I want" I look around and some people around who heard him also laughed. kids

Yesterday my daughter was at preschool screenings. This is mostly a play time with the social worker, speech teacher etc there to evaluate her needs etc. She was playing and one of the ladies asked her what the color was. She answered but followed it wit a "Duh" she is picking up the language that the teenage daugthers of my sitter is using.

I actually enjoy the company with my nepehew especially when i'm a very long way from home. Although when i left home a few months ago, he could still not talk in straight sentences but only phrases, in any way i could still understand what he meant even if there are really times that its quite hard for other people to understand. He usually says "peacock" which is really his favorite because of its colorful feathers. My family even plan that we would go to a park just to see a peacock when i get home next month and i am really looking forward in spending time with my family after being away for quite some time aready. There are actually lots of instances when he really makes me laugh and sometimes when i remember it out of nowhere i would just smile alone just thinking about those times. :)

I work with kids and they are absolutely hilarious. The other day, I was laughing because a little guy was reading the newpaper and I said "How old are you kid?" and he looks at me very seriously and says "what are you saying! I'm 2!" it was so funny.
