The Best Book: The Most and Least Read Book

The Bible is perhaps the most popular book in the whole world. Almost every household has a copy of it, and has been translated to almost every language. But the question is, "How often do people read it?" More importantly, "How many people are passionate about knowing and doing what's written in it?"
It may be the "best-selling book of all time" but is it really popular?
Is it really so common that common people read it always?
Or is it just another book which occupies a household's shelf, collecting dust?

I try to read my Bible everyday but it isn't always the easiest thing to accomplish at times. It is important to me so I think I have disciplined myself enough to do it consistently. The Bible is definitely my blueprint for life and is precious to my existence. However, with the many distractions of life it sometimes gets pushed into the back burner if only for a day or two.

Many reasons, includi.g distractions keep us away from reading the Bible. But nothing beats 'unbelief' as a reason for not reading the Word of God. The books in the Bible were written by different people from all walks of life who lived in different civilizations yet retained its consistency in its entirety. It is only when we truly achieve an experiential knowledge of God that we are drawn closer to Him.

Hi nigro01, Welcome to mylot, and I hope that you will enjoy your time here and make many friends as well as some money. This is a good site where you can earn a little money by posting discussions and commenting the discussions of others. Now to this your first post. The Bible is the number 1 best seller in the world, but I think you are right when you say that many don't read it.I know it's ones choice but even most Christians prefer to told about it than to read it themselves. I think that it's a fascinating book and I've read it many times. I may not take it literally, but I want to find out for myself what it really has to say. Blessings.

BIBLE in fact encompasses flinty nuggets of worldly wisdom. It guides us..it inspires us...it enlightens us .

The last part is totally true. Some of us Catholics are not given proper instructions on how to read the bible properly. I don't think that the church put too much emphasis in doing so. If they do, the people will have to bring their own bible in going to church every Sunday. It's the best selling book in the world yet only few read them from page 1 up to the last page. It should be read daily, and I'm guilty of not doing it sometimes.
