A Chinese mother brought her one-year-old daughter to the department of plastic surgery in a hospital in Chongqing, China and tried to have the doctors do a double-edged eyelid surgery on her daughter.
Her request was firmly denied by the doctors, who also criticized her behavior seriously as well.
Do parents have the right to enforce their taste of aesthetic on their children???? Do they have the right to alter their underage children's looks by performing plastic surgeries?
The mother has attended serious beauty contests and had some plastic surgeries to herself. She explained that she wanted her daughter to be perfect and to have the advantages than other children.
She regretted for her behavior later and said: "She is already very beautiful. And her single-edged eyelids are just my understanding of flaws."

This mum is insane! What a thing to do! Doesn't she understand that a one-year old girl is still growing and she can do permanent damage to her. Also, there is much pain to be endured and no parent would want their kids to experience that. Luckily the doctors have some sense.

What a disgusting notion that a mother could possible want to change her daughter in that way. Children are just perfect the way they are.
I believe that this mother has some serious self image issues that she is going to inevitably transfer to her poor child. This is very upsetting.
Plastic surgeries have gotten so common and younger and younger women/girls are subjecting themselves to this. Very sad indeed. Media and imagery has driven people mad.
