To avoid monosodium glutamate you just have to cook your own food. At home I never use MSG in my food and they taste good just the same. Food from restaurants or fast-foods or cooked anywhere outside your own home and those packed food are almost always with MSG. So that is the only way... prepare and cook your own at home using all natural products. Avoid using instant ingredients as well.

Hi ifa
Been only the Potatoes chips when it comes to packed food for me. "Lays" Nothing beyond. I love to cook fresh and eat fresh, medically recommended for me and also tastier for me.
The other stuff that goes with me (in packaged food) is Chowmein (Noodles) and I know they are a slow poison... but as they are tasty and yummy delicious, I am sure I cannot give em up just because of some health hazard they come with...
I always believe - illness is just by mere luck and chance, nothing of any food or anything else... I have seen and known people who have been smoking for ages and also drinking since ages but still, they are healthier than many many others. No sign of illness with them and I do wish them great health

ifa...just speaking for myself, none of those foods are included in my diet..so it is easy for me! I really, seriously can't think of any prepared foods, of any form...that I eat that contains MSG! And it is not just the MSG, but the plethora of other unpronouncable chemicals in the composition..that deter me from eating these foods.

I think not yet. But I've read that it has been declared as safe and it has been use for more than 100 years. So if nothing better is discovered, we'll be still using it.
