question about one of my assignments

hi guys i am suppose to do an article presentation, and its suppose to be in a numbered format such as: 1.purpose 2.have and interest 3.gather and synthesize 4.evaluate and for the evaluation part of the article i am suppose to create a reference page of the articles that I have found pertaining to my topic, and give an explanation of how it relates to my topic. So does that literally mean to makes a works cited page and under each different resource, write a sentence or two of how it pertains to my topic. Am i taking this assignment too literal? Because the next step #5 says to pick one of the articles and state the thesis, and key supporting points. Has anyone ever done an article presentation in this format before?
