Do you want to know in advance that you will be experiencing a difficult situation (heart surgery)? Or would you prefer that danger come upon you without warning (a mugger in a dark alley)? In my opinion, knowing in advance prolongs our anxiety and we tend to distort the reality. If danger comes suddenly, we deal with the reality, and usually get through the experience in better shape.

I just pray that I would not be in either situation. But if it is inevitable, I pray that I have it in me to deal with the situation. I don't really prefer one over the other.

Sure! That would be the best situation but life isn't always that kind. You could have a heart attack and have to have emergency surgery. sometimes it is best to just have it happen than to know it is looming out there in the future. Anxiety and stress are no fun.

I would ten times much prefer to know in advance. That way, I can prepare myself for it. If danger would come suddenly, I might die of a heart attack instead of the danger!

Wow, that's a hard one. I think I would rather prepare for something in advance than to be caught by surprise by a mugger in a dark alley or by something much dangerous. I may have to suffer anxiety but at least I know what I'm going to face and be ready for it. Good day!

Definitely without warning, even if that means there's no preparing for it. I don't feel like worrying about something that is inevitable for weeks if I had the choice.
