If God is one and only one, does He contardict Himself in various religions?

We all say that God is one and most of us believe in that but remarkably God is telling different things in different religions and He uses different methods to interact and work and reveal Himself to humans. This implies that God is seriously contradicting Himself here. Is it true? And if not does that implies that there is only one method of God to reach to humans while rest are make believes.

All these books are written by ordinary people and interpreted many times over hundreds of times, we don't know who wrote any of them so we don't know what is true and what is not true, I don't believe any of the books I believe in my inner feelings and ineer voice to guide me.

I agree that there is only one true God. But mankind has created thousands of religions or ways to worship God. So it is up to each one of us to try to find the only true religion. Surely if we search for the truth and we have love in our hearts then the true religion should not be hard to find. God does not hide himself from such ones. He would reveal himself to such sincere and honest seekers.

these books which are told to be the books of gods are all telling about one and only one god but the problem is these books are written by people. different people see in different perspective... supppose three persons see a hen,one may be a poet and he will describe the beauty of the hen, other may be a cook and he will describe the making of it into a lovely dish and the other one may be a zoologist and he will say more description about it so the thing is: all the things here were apt for hen but the view point of three persons were different

Sorry dear but you have a wrong belief. Indeed there is only one and only one God and God has revealed this truth to us in His scriptures, in His creations and in our own conscience. He never contradicts Himself and could never do this because He is a perfect God and can never commit mistakes. It is men who contradicts because they they don't believe on the basis of God's revelation but on the basis of what they want to believe. Religions in most cases contradict each other but it is not God's fault, it is men's fault no less because they allow Satan to mess up their mind.

There is only one God and one true religion. There may be more than one in this world but ONE is true.

The existance of this universe is the evidence that God exists. You never realise how the earth moves around the sun at the same speed, and the arth turns itself so there is night and day. Do you think this happens like that without God making it? I think you have to think about it carefully. Now let me ask you questions. The only planet that has a seven layers above it is only this earth. Without this layer there would be no life because all those meteors would attack the earth as they attack the moon. All these informations are available in The Holy Quran that has existed since 450.

Nah. There's no true religion, there are many to fit each person way of thinking. Saying "There is only one god and one true religion" is a hard bet. You can say red is a colour for sure because everyone seen it and can agree with that. But no one ever saw there's only one god and no one has enough proof to prove it, there might be no god or 2+ gods, and more than a religion could be close enough to the truth, after all some religions are a copy/paste of others, they just change some names.

Religions are businesses. It's like comparing a game industry with a kitchen industry or something, of course they'll sponsor their stuff in a different way because THEY'RE different.

Maybe this will answer your question, 2Timothy 4:3,4 "...a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will reject the truth and chase after myths."(New Living Translation) The truth is not difficult to find if we ask God´s help to understand it and He has many times sent His servants to teach those who ask for it! But we have to keep asking and show that we are really interested in knowing the truth! Matthew 7: "7 “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened." You might be interested in reading this article that asks if there is one true religion. http://www.watchtower.org/e/200803/article_01.htm

G-d is many things to many peoples. All paths lead to him. It is we who are Very different. Different people need different messages. That is why it is so silly to think your religion is the only true religion. Your religion is true to you, period. And if we all can understand that we worship the same being just under different names we will be better off.

If you already think that the majority of religions are just make believe, why not just go one religion further, and admit that whichever you already believe in, could also be make believe? I think there's about the same chance of the Christian God existing, as there is of Allah existing, as there is of the hundreds of Hindu gods existing, as there is of Buddhist Nirvana existing... and those chances are, extremely low.

Sorry, you have got it all wrong. GOD nowhere came to earth and wrote those texts. His Avatars, only preached and if you go deeper into the preachings (most of which are now abridged) you would find they all taught the same things - universal brotherhood, love, peace and being honest to what you do. What we get to read is mostly the human versions of what GOD has been telling us and perceptions and narrations differ creating confusions.

Yes, I agree with you . If I were him I'd better not talk about it. It's very controversial and causes endless argument.

No,it´s just because since ancient times people just 'spread' words form God,and it got distorted. As you see,in many religions there are also things in common, but not everything. They were kind of adaptated for better understanding of the people that lived on those regions.Just seek the truth that is under all of them.

God is only one. I do only know one God. Those religions where made by the people themselves. It was them who converted those religion according to their beliefs. There is only one God for me. Religions are more of the tradition.

There are people all around the world. Hundreds and thousands of years ago they didn't know how to contact others on the other side of the world. I think that's why there had to be so many messengers, or call them how you like. People have so many different lifestyles, they have to adjust to different things and have different traditions. When the messages were "revealed" by the messengers, they were probably very relevant to the situations certain groups of people had that time. I think religions really have so many in common, and the differences are rather because of different traditions. Just my view.

Hello, blessedboy. If I may, I will suggest that you read Acts chapter 17. It is all about this. Because there are many teachings or religions does not mean that YAHVAH (GOD) contradicts himself. It means that people have formed their belief of what they think (GOD) is, does, looks like, etc. And because the books have been altered by several sects over the years, does not mean that no (GOD) exists. He allows people to do what they want. Look at the last verse in the book of Judges. This is what leads to confusion and different beliefs. He is ONE, and that will not change. How he interacts with people is shown in Genesis 9:20-27. Then connect this with Acts chapter 17. I hope that this gives enough detail. Have a great day and may YAHVAH (GOD) bless you.

I think that makes it blindingly obvious that every religion makes up it's own version of their god or gods and of course none of them are true as nobody has any idea if there is any sort of god and if so what sort of power or being that god is. What is clear is that there is no god or super being that has a slightest interest in the welfare of any individual person or species

I believe that there is one god, he just has so many forms. different people oftentimes misinterpret his messages. that's why humans form religions and they contradict each other.

God is one , religion is one too , .. If we look at the three monotheistic religions, we find that basis because it is one of a single source? Differences between them come from what people changed in religions . Do we blame the Creator for what he did the creature? of course not
