How to deal with all this?

I've never been told that I have depression from any doctors or psychiatrists, although I have gone to see them before, after being told to go after visiting the emergency room while having panic attacks... but I've never been told I have depression. Over this past 2 months, though, I've been feeling more like I do have it. I've been really bothered by myself, over and over again, and everywhere I look, I see problems and mistakes all over the place. Almost every night, I feel sad and crappy as I go to bed, and its a bit better when I wake up, but its been often going the same way through every day...
I know if I keep on going, keep on doing things, and work to make things better, then it will get better as the year keeps going on... but should I be trying to see someone for all of this? Should I perhaps start looking into taking medications to help me out? What should I do?

I do have depression, have it bad and have had it as far back into my childhood as my memory goes.
It seems there are at least two types of depression. On the one hand I have had this all my life and is most likely a genetic defect in my chemistry or what not. The other hand holds the people that have depression but a depression with a cause or a defined starting point.
A lot of people seem to become depressed due to a trauma or especially bad negative event in life. Reading through other discussions you will see people say that "after...I started to feel depressed and my doctor prescribed..."
If you want to think it through try think in terms of "when did things change?" Try to find a point where things started feel different for you. If you do have depression that has a cause, a time where it started, then its possible that you can find some healing.
Also, it may be that you are prone to it. Some physiological change happened and your chemistry is off. In this case medication or supplements are required.
No matter what, if its serious enough a concern that you are asking, go see a mental health professional soon and find out.

taking medications will really help you a lot. Don't hesitate to do such. In addition, consult maybe more than 2 doctors.

We all go through life feeling miserable at some point, causing depression and alike, but probably an option would be going through psychotherapy for assessment of your mental behavior on certain situation or things, and hopefully a clear picture of what you brain activity is going through would be assessed with the prescription of individual or group therapy sessions or just simply taking meds.

As someone who lives with depression and anxiety, I would encourage you to explain again to your doctor(s) what you are going through. Share with him/her some of the events happening in your life. Have your feelings been longer than 2 weeks? Out of a 7 day week, how often have you felt happy versus sad? Are you angry? Do you journal? If not, start. It will also show your doctor what you are going through, especially if you are having trouble putting all the events together in your mind. How is your sleep? Sleep is huge factor with depression and anxiety, some people either get a lot or very little. Above all else, how is your spending of money? Are you able to leave your home and be comfortable, or are you feel isolating and don't want to go anywhere?

Sorry to hear what you have been going through and what you are feeling. What you are describing could be symptoms of depression but they don't necessarily mean that you do have depression. You should not self-diagnose yourself with depression, you need to see a professional for it. You should go see the doctor or psychiatrist again and only if they diagnose you with depression then they can prescribe you medication for it if needed. Hope everything works out well for you

First off, sorry to hear what you are dealing with. I get panic attacks too. Before you start trying to take any kind of medication, I would go talk to someone first. Medications can be great but can also cause lots of side effects. Have you ever taken medication for anxiety? Since you have those maybe that is what the focus should be first, you could be stressing out and just feel overwhelmed. Good luck

Sorry for what you have been going through. First, it would be better for you to think about the available reason which would be contributing to your depression and then you can try to work towards the problems. If the problem is not something that you can get rid off then I would suggest you to seem medical advice.
There are many options that are available when it comes to managing depression though medication seems to be one of them, others therapy may include counselling and trying to look for a solution to the root cause of your depression. I just hope you can feel better soon.
