Hello, juggal... I had to get my GED while I was in prison. That was because they required it. Now, I am glad that I got it. It was that it showed me I could finish something in life. I have never been to college, but I would like to go maybe some day.

Hi Juggalo,
Well, my father was a teacher and so was my Aunt and Gram so if you can imagine...there was NO WaY my brothers and I were going to get away with dropping out. I did skip a lot of school in my highschool years and to the point where I almost didn't graduate. I had like well over 100 gym classes to make up in order to graduate. I didn't make them all up but luckily for me, the teacher who was keeping track of the make-ups had poor handwriting and while I still had several to make-up come graduation day....the powers that be read it as "made-up" so I did graduate. So much of what you learn in school is stuff you will never ever use again. It seems so senseless when you are a teen and I get why kids get bored with it all. Still...that diploma means a lot as you are realizing. Out of 4 kids, only one of my girls did not graduate. She took after me and skipped a lot. She is 25 now with a little son and very much regretting it. She can't seem to get a job any better than Wendy's Or Dunkins. She is now working on getting her GED in hopes of finding a better job. It seems that it isn't the education so much as the proof that you got it that makes the difference. She isn't a dumb girl at all. She made some bad choices as a teen as many of us do. Still, when she searches for a job, the minute she doesn't have that diploma, she is denied in many places, regardless of her qualifications. It seems foolish but unless you get someone to give you a real good break then I would recommend that you get your GED at least. I think it would maybe help you in getting a decent job.

I'm not in school right now but it is a priority for me. I really want to get back in college (i've completed only 1 year), but I seem to keep putting it off because I need more money to fund it! But I think education, post-secondary education that is, is the key to getting a good job. THAT or A LOT of experience. But some jobs require a college degree, so that's definitely what I"ll be shooting for when I get back in school (hopefully next fall). Plus, college classes can be so interesting.

yeah thats what seems to be what this world runs on is money so it is understandable that you had to stop college for a while cause of the funds you have to pay for the books and stuff, i hope one day i get a good job and save up enough for atleast 2 years of college. if i could do that i would be so happy

I take education seriously and important. I believe though you can be successful in life, education offers you more chances than when you are less educated. Would I have gone back to school, probably yes or I would have looked for other way to learn like online to avoid hussles of schooling with children.

Education is very important to me. It was when I was younger and now that I am older and have kids it is really a concern of mine that my kids get a good education so they can get a good job when they get older. I have noticed though that some of my friends that graduated college with a certain degree in something could not find work in there field of study which kind of bothers me that you spend all this money on college and then you don't or cant find a job. I believe education is good and no matter what the age people if they want should go back to school.

Education in fact is the all the more important in gaining self respect and honor in public life. While education enhances the scope for a vocation to live life fully, it also imparts full social acumen and interaction.Education is thus above all sources of material wealth.

I quite school too early because I was tired. I was learning piano too and had loads of work to do every night and rarely got to go out with my friends. However, I realized that it was mistake to quit early and went back to college and studied. I have done that ever since, going to adult classes and learning what I felt I needed to. I enjoy going now and find it a challenge, but that's what I feel life is all about nowadays. I won't say that it makes life easier because money is still hard to earn, but I feel much richer in knowledge now than I ever did. _Derek

I think that education is one of the most important things in the world, and it is something that we should never be giving up on. We are always learning every day of our lives, and it is not often that a day will go by when we think that there isn't anything that we learned that day. We should never take it for granted just how lucky we are to be able to be educated in this country, because it is something that not everybody is able to afford where they live, so we should never forget just how much our education should mean to us.

Hello there.
Right now I'm still studying in a college to get my diploma cause the education system in my country in different from yours. What I can say from my point of view is education is very important to every person in the world. Because with proper education one will get higher opportunity to excel in what he/she doing.
One more thing, education isn't only about what you learn in a school. It also include what you learn in your life and not to exclude about religion. Cause what you learn in school is to get the certificate as a proof of your education level.
To conclude, even if you don't have the black and white of your education you may still get jobs if you have the skills and knowledge to captivate your to-be-employer.
Happy myLotting...

I only really appreciated education when i began working. without education it would be difficult to succeed in this technical world we are living in. if we were uneducated we wouldn't be given that many opportunities.

Education is of utmost importance to me.
I used to be the guy who arrived early at class and always wore the uniform we had assigned. I got (and still do) really annoyed around people who went there because the felt they were forced to. I can't stand it when I'm trying to learn and someones talking or just starts bad-mouthing the subject or school/college, if you don't like it then leave!
