Wood Chips for cat litter

Canada

I remember reading in this forum about using wood chips in place of the normal cat litter most of us use, as it decreases the dust in your home. I did just that, I went to my local Feed Tack place, and grabbed a 40lb bag of wood chips and paid $6.40!! It has worked out well, I still scoop as often as I always have, but now, there is no dust, and there is a woodsy type smell, instead of gross urine smell. Thanks to whomever posted that tip!

Are you talking about the same thing as cedar chips? Like for hamsters and gerbils? We've had all sorts of pets and we couls still smell teh urine aftr a couple of days. Maybe I'll give it a try

They aren't cedar chips only because the smell of cedar is very strong lol! But they are wood chips, so I would agree with you there. We actually don't smell any urine, if anything it would be poo that gives us the note to change the litter asap! Good luck, its very economical. I just bought a bag for $6.00 for 40lbs!
