Any music makers out there?

I used to play alto saxophone and trombone. I now produce music on the computer mostly through FL Studio and I'm trying to start a YouTube artist thing. I'm also thinking of learning how to play guitar or ukelele (I tried the drums but well...never mind).
Anyone else make music as a hobby?

I play guitar (electric and acoustic) but something i would really like to play is the harmonica. it's such a small instument but if you can play it the right way it's really beautifull. I've done some Fl studio but I'm not really into it. playing a physical instrument can't be beaten by a computer in my opinion.

Oh...so, you play guitar..nice.
I have to say that making music on FL Studio is certainly a different musical experience compared to creating on an actual instrument, but it is also quite unique in its own way.
I think it's much harder to compose music using a physical instrument but the experience would probably be more fun. I tried creating some songs on the saxophone and would just right the note letters down on paper (amateur). It was cool but I felt a bit limited by my limited instruments skills. Nowadays you can recreate almost any sound on a computer which..i guess..takes the excitement out of composition.

I write songs whenever I'm inspired, but I don't see a career in it. I play guitar and sing, but that's mostly what I do. I think you should pursue the YouTube artist thing, though. That's how a lot of stars get discovered these days. :D

Ya i think Youtube will be fun. I'm gonna be freestyling over the rhythms I make....I might even do some remixes to change up the game. Even if I don't catch wind in the Youtube community, I can still show it to my friends and that would be satisfying enough for me.

Hi Aja! I am a choral arranger. I have stopped writing music though but i am looking forward to regain it back again on when my shipment of Finale installer arrives next month.
It is a cool plan to upload your music in youtube. Who knows?! you might just wind up in biiiiiig career! Good luck!
